I find the results from Japanese fans interesting (especially when you see the Capcom hate-list...least now I know why Jon Talbain is never used in games...). As soon as I saw who was number 2, I just HAD to share this. So many of you guys are probably going to disagree with that one alone. LOL at Gargan-Venom making the list. Great minds the world over

Random thoughts:

Quite a few characters there I haven't seen around in ages. I guess they're more prominent in the games. It's either that or the Japanese fans really know how to hold a grudge.

I suspect that Howard The Duck is mostly hated by people who dislike the idea but have never actually read his comics.

I'm somewhat surprised by the level Cyclops' unpopularity in Japan. I get why many fans in countries like the US may find him bland and boring. However, I would have imagined his reserved, understated personality being more appealing or even relatable to people from a high context culture. Then again, I'm sure that the "I'm a Wolverine-fan. Therefore I am going to hate Cyclops for not being Wolverine. Even though that makes no sense." -crowd makes up a considerable portion of the fandom worldwide.

Alot of the list are villains or people who have turned villainous.

I can sort of understand Cyclops getting hate as some people don't like the direction writers have taken the character over the last decade.

Northstar is sort of random. Don't really know what there is to hate about the character unless Japanese people just really hate gay canadians mutant olympic skiers or something.

Silver Samurai's popularity will go up after he features in The Wolverine movie as Jackman confirmed his a villian in the film.
