The Most Poorly Titled Movies of All Time

Bad Boys

Striking Distance

Color of Night

The Story of Us

The Kid

The Whole Ten Yards

Funny how most of those are Bruce willis movies...

But I love the title Bad boys. They even worked it in the song in each movie.

I Still know What You did Last Summer is a very dumb name. It doesn't even make sense!

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer wouldn't be such a bad title if the movie took place, say, a week after the first film. Instead it takes place years later, meaning it should've been titled I Still Know What You Did Several Summers Ago.

Star Trek: Nemesis

What the hell is it supposed to mean?

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I'd understand if it was for a lesser known X-Men character, but Wolverine is the most popular X-Men. There's no need to include X-Men Origins in the title.

Yeah, that was a really stupid title.

What's worst is that it'll probably be the only origins movie..

I might be alone on this one since the name does describe a major theme going on in the film but 'Hard Rain'.

For some reason I just think it's a stupid name for a film, even if in the film it is raining so hard that it floods the town.

That movie was sold and filmed under the name The Flood. It then sat on the shelf for a long time and was finally released, a year or so later, as Hard Rain. I have no idea why they changed the name. Perhaps because it sounds more HARDCORE!!1!. Y`know, HARD! RAIN! *Explosions* *Guitar Solo*.

Hahaha! Yeah, I remember that now that you mention it, about the name change. That was a great description too, with it sounding more "hardcore". Reminds me of the tag line for Arnold's film 'Red Heat'.

"There will be heat...RED HEAT!" :hehe:

Perfect Stranger with Bruce Willis and Halle Berry.

Only because it reminds a lot of people of the 80s sitcom with Balki.

It meant his return to the big screen.

Which is odd to me. The title had nothing to do with the film, just a way to tell us he is returning.

I liked when Superman had ''Returns'' in the title because it meant he is returning after all these years, but in the flick he is returning from Krypton.

Transformers

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen

The anime movie 'Tenchi Muyo in Love.'

At first, you think the movie might be about the main character Tenchi falling in love. Then you find out it's about him going back in time and meeting his parents as teenagers. That's when you remember Tenchi's last name isn't Muyo, but the title of the TV series 'Tenchi Muyo' actually means 'No Need For Tenchi.'

So when the movie is titled 'Tenchi Muyo in Love,' it basically means '[Title of TV Show]' in [Title of Movie].' It's like if the cast of Cheers starred in a movie titled Drunk, and you named the movie 'Cheers in Drunk.'

In other words, the title should just be Love, or Tenchi Muyo the Movie: Love.

Yes, because a movie with CGI chains swinging through the air and guys jumping around doing stunts that aren't humanly possible doesn't possibly have a chance of being bad.

I suppose you thought The Matrix was bad too?

It might just be me, but I thought sometimes, just sometimes, people watch movies NOT to see amazing feats of realism.

You should watch the choreography videos for it on youtube. The sword play is stunning.

Transformers

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen
I don't think these movies were poorly titled. They were poorly written, produced, directed, and so on..

I know right? What were you expecting Transformers to be named? Giant Robots Beating The **** Out of Eachother?

I thought that was the reason why it was called "Bad Boys"..because of that "Cops" theme song.

No, I didn't think The Matrix was bad, and yes, I do watch movies as a means of escapism. My problem with what I saw from Ninja Assassin is that it looked more akin to sh** like Romeo Must Die than The Matrix.

Regardless of the film's quality though, I still think it's a lazy and uninspired title.

Yeah, in retrospect, I would have to say that Bad Boys isn't a bad title. Not even sure why I mentioned that one before.
