..more so that ever before i'm starting to think this mystery man who had a brief cameo visiting Harry in this movie, and appeared talking to Conners in the first movie is none other that Richard Parker.

Think about it.

1) They're concealing his face from us, so it's obvious that this is someone who if we saw his face, we would likely know them, as there is no need concealing a person's identity if he has not been introduced yet.

2) When asked about this, in ASM1, Webb said it's a character that "we know"

3) And this is the one that had 'my spider-sensing tingling'; we didn't actually see Richard die in the plane crash. It is very likely..and i'm willing to bet..that he survive; parachuted out, or by some other means…..

Your thoughts...

the man have his name, as if you saw movie you would know it.

They said his last name in the film. Fiers, The Gentlemen.

It's Gustav Fiers/The Gentleman. Richard Parker is dead (unless he managed to get to the parachute before impact).

Besides, why in the hell would Richard Parker attack his own son or go and visit Harry Osborn about planning a team to go attack his son? Also, he asked Dr. Connors in "ASM1", 'Did you tell the boy about his father?'

My God... IMDB could've told you the answer, you know, instead of making a silly, unnecessary thread.

Why would a man that's hell-bent on stopping Oscorp, help them out...?

I know what his current name is!

Who's to say he didn't change his name? Who's to say he isn't insane now? Harry and Peter where best buds in the beginning of the movie, but are trying to kill each other by the end and that was over the course of about a week or two. Richard has been gone for many years…who's to say he's still in the same state of health, mentally, as he was 12 years or so prior..?

God, you people have no imagination.:csad:

This reminds me of that theory about Victoria Hand being the Clairvoyant in Agents of SHIELD.

Richard Parker being The Man in Shadows makes no sense for the same reasons that theory makes no sense.

One would assume that he'd be played by the same actor as Richard if he was supposed to be Richard.

Again, why would a man that's hell-bent on stopping Oscorp, willingly change his ways and help them out...?

If we have no imagination, then your foundation in which you developed this theory is not only flawed, but extremely non-sensical.

I wouldn't think it's Richard since it showed a clean cut death for in the beginning but I wouldn't be surprised if Gustav have some connections and I am interested in some of the things he has been involved in or has his hands in Oscorp/Richard Parker wise

It had nothing to do with imagination, or lack of. Spider-Man could also be a Jedi who teams up with Merlin to fight Ganondorf. Imaginative does not equal good. Or logical.

I would pay to see this.

No imagination? Neither Michael Massee or Campbell Scott look or sound alike!

And again... why would Richard, a man who devoted his life to exposing the nefariousness of Oscorp, would then become Gustav Fiers/The Gentleman and plan this elaborate scheme to go after Peter Parker all because, mind you, the Parkers were a thorn in Norman's side and were whistleblowers against the big, evil conglomerate empire?

Aye carumba.

Gustav Fiers/The Gentleman is an existing comic-book character, and is not Richard Parker by another name.

End of story.

Maybe Richard Parker tried to hide ended up getting plastic surgery and a Russian accent, and lost himself in his character and now he's Alexi Systevich aka the Rhino! He was trying rob oscorp in the beginning wasn't he? Why would he do that? He's a against Oscorp. He's Richard Parker. #mindblown #you'rewelcome

Haven't even seen this movie but I gotta say this theory is ridiculous in every sense of the word. There's no way the guy in the shadows trying to bring down Peter is also the same man who sacrificed everything in his best effort to keep said boy safe.

And if that were the case, it would simply be due to extremely poor filmmaking.

Gustav Fiers might turn out to be the guy that was sucked out of the plane. I mean its certainly a better idea than the Richard Parker theory.

He probably had a parachute under his suit & survived.

Its sam rami he wanted a cameo because he liked the first one and miss doing this movies:yay:

TIL that being "imaginative" means concocting the most ludicrous, hair-brained conspiracy theories possible- never mind that they don't fit with the established tone/storyline whatsoever. lol.

Anyone remember all the fanboy theories about Chameleon/Mysterio impersonating Norman Osborn in TASM2? Yeah, that would have worked a treat.

[BLACKOUT]Mr. Fiers aka Richard Parker[/BLACKOUT] to Spider-man aka Peter Parker: I am your father
P. Parker: Noooooooo!
