The Naked Fun in The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 62

Timecop was always such an oddity. It was almost a remake/redo of a show called Time Trax that came out like 3-4 years prior (that had an actual lead actor and not a kicking cokehead like Van Damme) and even starred Mia Sara. The show was cheap and silly but I remember really loving it back in the day.
I have watched Timecop at least three times in my life and I have forgotten everything about it each time. The last time I watched it was around a year ago. Once again I forgot everything about it, except this time I remember thinking “how did I forget that Mia Sara is naked in this?”

The How Did This Get Made episode on it is worth a listen because they make the point that it COULD have been a better movie if you had a real lead actor in it like a Kurt Russell or someone who could have realistically played a grieving action hero instead of just a dude who they were trying to turn into the next big action hero so they could capitalize on his martial arts moves. Which I guess makes sense because it was the 90s but I imagine a Timecop movie that was actually worthy if their priority hadn’t been: “Let’s have Van Damme kill some guys in his kitchen while doing a split in his boxers!”

Haven't seen those MK movies since I watched them on VHS as a ten year old. Feels like the only appropriate way to experience them.
The original movie I legit like. It's fun and I still think easily the best MK movie. Annihilation, that's a watch with friends and roast it together movie. Never watch it alone

MKA is Dungeons and Dragons 2000 bad, yeah. You just watch it and think how did anyone ever think a single second of this was a good idea? And amazing they managed to spend more money on it than the first one and it looks a million times worse. I know everyone says The Room or maybe Samurai Cop are the worst movies ever made but I think MKA might be worse than both lol.

On the other hand, I would watch it again before I would sit through Cole Young’s plot armor origin story again lol.

I could totally see that movie being great with Kurt Russell in the JCVD role. Kurt Russell is a very self aware actor and can make any film fun.

The other issue with Timecop is this was the stage of his career where JCVD was starting his mullet. That hair is distracting as all get out.

MK also has Bridgette Wilson Sampras.
Maybe the most beautiful woman of the ‘90s

I, too, apparently forgot everything about this movie
*checks to see if its streaming anywhere*

Hahahahaha yeah on How Did This Get Made they kept referring to his hair as his “grief mullet.” 😆

Submitted a question to Steve Barron (TMNT 1990) on Reddit yesterday! Did not expect a response at all since there were almost 500 questions! First time submitting a question on there!:wow:

TMNT 1990 is not just one of the best CBMs’ but one of my favourite films! Him returning to the R-Rated Last Ronin with practical suits from the Jim Henson company would be awesome!:mrk:

My family wanted to watch Superman now it's digital, but quickly changed their mind when they saw how much they were asking for to rent it ($25).

Kinda standard these days for first day on demand now isn’t it? Jurassic Turd is $20 I think right now

I always laugh at the rental price dropping to about a quarter of that price once the physical disc release hits. It almost makes you wonder why they even bother to offer the rental as an option for that much when it's an extra $5 to just own a digital copy.

I think David Corenswet is dreamy as hell, but the way my bank account is after paying off my AmEx, it's either rent Supes or go see Highest 2 Lowest this weekend.

I choose Spike and Denzel because their collabs never miss. :o

Best save your money for the Superman 4K UHD Blu-ray so you can own it forever.
