Yeah, but OGF was panned AND it didn't make money. If this winds up the same way, people might start to avoid him.

Budget $4.8 million. Box office. $10.3 million
It did aight, Gosling only took 100k.
Yep. BN's right. I personally know the Unit Production Manager of Drive and he showed me, albeit edited, budget sheets for Drive. NWR's movies are cheap enough that he can afford to make something off the wall and controversy prone. I'd say Neon Demon is going to do OGF numbers.

The Neon Demon: great, glam, gory genre delirium from NWR. Controversy ahoy! #Cannes2016

The Neon Demon: vapid but visually stunning supermodel horror with a darkly comic edge I really dug. Plus lesbian necrophilia #Cannes2016

Worth noting The Neon Demon also received boos before it even started when the Amazon Films logo popped up. #Cannes2016
I can't wait for this. It always seems like the hate OGF and maybe now TND get are from people who have only seen Drive or expected something similar. Drive is the odd movie in Refn's filmography, lol.

+ Some stunning imagery
+ Cliff Martinez’s EDM score
+ Elle Fanning
- Slow and empty
- Shallow, one-dimensional characters
- Tired attempts to shock
IGN gave the film 5/10.

Idk what they thought of OGF.
From what I've read Amazon are 100% behind Refn. Hell, Amazon Studios Twitter page have been retweeting some of his "f*** the system" quotes from Cannes.
I think some people are just waiting for another Drive-type film.
