The Dark Knight The new and improved Mr. Reese thread

I'm not saying Mr. Reese is the riddler, but am i the only one that saw the scene that i was talking about earlier in this thread. Fox's secretary tells him that someone had broken into the room with the sonar computer, while fox is listening to reese read the note the joker made him read on GSN, while reese was reading it, fox was taking one word from the end of the sentences reese was reading and trying to put them together, like reese or the joker was trying to tell them something. I thought that was strange, but i guess it was jokers way of telling them where they would be.

You guys might not want to put it down for CERTAIN if he IS or ISNT. The third movie hasn't even been green lighted yet, so you have no way of knowing for certain.

No, we don't know for certain. But I don't know for certain if Chris Nolan is coming back for a third one, but I'm sure as hell Joel Schumacher won't take his place if he doesn't.

There's fan speculation, and there's complete lack of common sense. As I said, they gave of us one of the great performances with Heath, and they follow him up with this guy as the next villain? Does that really make sense?

By some people's logic, Mike Engel could turn into a villain. Mike Engel = MikeEngal. MI - KING - EL... King... he could be King Tut in the sequel!

lol there is no way in hell he will be the riddler. just no. he was a cool character though.

When you people say how much you hated Reese. Is that because the acting was poor? Or because the acting was very good?

Us people loved Reese! He made Heath Ledger look like an amateur.

Reese is the man who deserves an oscar! The Joker was just his pawn.

Reese is dead, so I don't see how he'll be playing the Riddler.

Unless you guys think Joker let him live after he captured him... which there is zero reason to believe.

Seriously, before we saw TDK Mike Engel was the Riddler. Now Mr. Reese is the Riddler

He was annoying, lame, and ugly. There is no more basis for this guy being the Riddler than the falafel guy. If this man is the Riddler I am done with this series, which is why I'm confident he's not.

But can you all imagine it. The Dark Knight, hailed as a masterpiece by many with a phenomenal villain in Heath Ledger's Joker. How do they follow it up? With Mr. Reese's pieces as the Riddler!!!!!!11

People said the same thing when Heath ledger was cast as the Joker. Really? Who cares who plays the part as long as it's played well? So what if he's ugly!? Since when was the Riddler a dapper handsome man? This guy is wormy, redish hair, receeding hairline...HE LOOKS LIKE THE RIDDLER!

I could se him teaming up with Mike Engel and making this work!

AMH was clearly misleading the fans...and now Mr Reese's name is misleading the fans...

This tells me that the next movie will be a mystery, which is well suited for Nolan, and that Mr E and Mr Reese will both be red herrings...

I wouldnt get upset over it either way people...its all speculation at this point, and they could have something cool planned for the characters.

Hate to add more fuel to the fire, my brother just watched Batman Begins and apparently Mr. Reese is at the Wayne Enterprises board meeting when Bruce introduces himself back to the company and Gotham.

Screencap or it didn't happen!

Um, I don't remember him dying. Didn't Bruce save him?

The name is definetly wordplay on Mysterious/Mysteries. Maybe thats what Nolan & Co wanted to do. Cause a mystery by the guys name. Mr Reese.

Actually i think it's a wordplay on Mr. FReese aka Freeze. Also Coleman - e + d = Coldman. So Coleman Reese becomes Coldman Freese. MR. FREESE. As the new head of research and development at wayne tech. He carries out unethical experiments concerning cryogenic preservation to give his dying wife more time. However a new guy hired by wayne shuts down his operations and puts him trough a freezing process to give him a taste of his own medicine. He develops a gun that shoots out a stream of liquid nitrogen and a suit that keeps his body temp below zero. I have sources from WB

Hmm, nah. I hope its not the case. Besides, if he already knows Batman's identity, then where do you really take the character?

There is also a rumor that Engel is the Riddler. See, his intial is Mr. E! Mystery! Maybe they are both the Riddler. The Riddler has artifically cloned himself, albeit poorly and now he'll take over the world!:wow:

In the sequel board there's actually someone who suggested William Fichtner play Mr. Freeze. The bank manager will become Mr. Freeze. This is why I love the hype.:lmao:

Last time I saw Reese in the movie, he was hanging upside down reading lines for Joker's last video. That scene took place after the hospital blew up.

Then again, maybe that wasn't Reese, but it sure looked like him to me. And the last person Joker put on video (the Batman copycat) didn't end up living in the end.

LOL, what are you on?

Yea I have no clue why that Engel character had so much secrecy around it. Engel was pretty much a background character that really held no importance in the film (apart for the aforementioned Reese part by the above poster). I really dont get why they got AMH for a role for that had only about 5 minutes of screen time...

Because Anthony Michael Hall is an attention-****e.
A year ago, he knew he was only playing Mike Engel, but instead when asked about the role, he said
"oh, um, gee, Warner Bros. will kill me if I said anything, it's such a big role!"
Jackass.

Did anyone see this article?

"When asked if he thought they should recast Ledger for the third film, or just not include the character, Gary thought it was a good idea, "I don't see why not. I mean, they did it with Katie Holmes' character. I understand that this is a different circumstance, but I think another actor could do the job. I think Heath would want another actor to do the job."

Oldman then took a moment to think about it some more, "Maybe we don't need the Joker. Because we'll have The Riddler." Yes, Oldman alluded to the fact that The Riddler may in fact be the next on-screen Batman villain."

Considering they haven't even written a script yet, everything at this point is just speculation. Riddler would be nice, but if it doesn't fit for the story they want to tell, they won't use him.

.....

Can you people use common sense?

you mean to tell me that nolan would, after follwing an oscar nominated actor as joker, use the guy whos biggest claim to fame was that so raven as The Riddler, who, even though fanboys and modern comics dont respect that well, is considered one of the top batman villains in pop culture?

lol

So stupid he deducted Batman's identity, something no one else in Gotham could do? :whatever:

Except if anyone else in Gotham got a look of the schematics of the Batmobile, they wouldve come to the same conclusion after watching the tumbler on TV

I'll **** as soon as you tell me what leap in common sense occured for anyone to believe that a character who was portrayed as a completely spineless lawyer played by an actor whos previous role before this movie was "CAOC Analyst #2" in the movie Iron Man will somehow become a complete criminal mastermind and will somehow develop an obsessive compuslive desire to leave clues....

The same way a no name actor became oh I dont know Indiana Jones/Han Solo.
