Not that it matters because 2006 will go down as the year we finally, after almost 30 years, got TWO great sequels to Superman, not just one.

I was thinking about that the other day, but the whole ''vague history'' will probably save the films from not following a continuity. Returns is a sequel and a new start all of its own, that's my perception anyway.

no. superman returns ruined itself.
it calls itself a sequel yet it is more of a remake of the original with a worse story about a bastard son, a villain plot that made no sense and superstalker ignoring the powermuting and killing effects of kryptonite because he had a sunbake........
i wanted to love this film. but its not good enough damn it. urghhghgghh.

I doubt the kiss will be there, that's Lester stuff. The Donner version is Supes and Lois just agreeing that they can't be together, it's far superior, you can find it on YouTube.

I, love your words... I just called my brothers to read this and I rolled. good stuuf, I couldn't have put it better myself. If Superman is supposed to be mirroring Jesus, then this movie was the Da Vinci code. trying to add things that may create a buzz for a week and then fall off while people keep remembering Mary Madgolin as the ****e who got saved and nothing more.

No, there is not ANOTHER time reversal, it is THE time reversal. Donner did not intend for there to be the time reversal in the first, it was only ment to be for the end of the second to undo him sleeping with Lois and telling her who he was.

Now that WOULD make it so it does NOT fit in with SR because he would undo ever having slept with Lois, so no

I heard they aren't using it in this version and that Michael Thau came up with a new ending that Donner loved. So I don't think there will be the reversal of time. There was never going to be in the original Donner 2 anyway after they had to use if for STM. By the time they decided to do that, they had already abandoned working any more on 2, and Donner and Makelweitcz were coming up wth a new ending when they went back to complete it. What you are seeing online is the shooting script before they made the changes to STM.
