Supes would have to get through Ollie AND Hal. Don't think that's gonna happen.

Besides Hal would have his Kryptonite condom on.

So... Winick's last issue then. Was this just his last issue, or the last issue overall (no 'next month' box or cover preview like usual)?

I thought it was an okay ish, though I can see the Connor lovers will be going nuts at Winnick having ended his run by eliminating Connor as GA essentially. Maybe he'll become a new Arsenal type character by using all manner of blunt weapons rather than a bow, and finally take his place as one of the best martial artists of the DCU. Taking the emphasis off his bow skills could well be the way to go in order to make him his own man and his own superhero.

I think that Connor growing out of the Green Arrow identity in a dramatic and emotional character arc is definitely doable and would be interesting to see. I'd love to see someone like Tomasi or Simone tackle that.

However, I think that Connor growing out of the Green Arrow identity because he was injected with SUPER WOLVERINE CLONE CLOUD AMNESIA is absolute cock and balls dipped in horse****.

Oh, yes, amnesia. Does everyone understand that? He has no memories of his life. That means that until a better writer comes along and undoes this, years of Connor's relationships and experiences and growth and continuity are now just gone as far as the DCU is concerned. Gone. Square one. Tabula rasa. He is just a new character now in the biggest sort of soap opera nonsense you could imagine. And Winick gives all of this the dramatic impetus of a car wash. In fact Winick implies that this is a happy ending. The story ends with Ollie and Dinah about to **** each other, it's a Brand New Day, yaya hapy fun tiHGNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGHHHH

I don't know what you're talking about, Connor Hawke doesn't exist anymore. Hasn't for about 2 or 3 years now. I'm looking forward to whenever he comes back. I hope he brings Cassandra Cain with him. (She doesn't exist anymore, either.)

Yeah, it was sad when Connor died off-panel during Archer's Quest, and Cassandra died in the last issue of Batgirl.

I know, right? But never fear, they can always be retconned back to life.

I like the current arc in GA. Winick's run was a waste of time, IMO. the current arc is not mind-blowing but at least, it is solid. I take it as the writer is trying to make things move and build something. It is cool with me.
the only thing : I sincerely hope the villain's name is not "Poison Arrow". Please!

I like that Ollie's back to investigating murders and street level crime again. Hopefully they'll keep it up - but I do think his residence needs standardising. I'm not clear where the guy lives now, but something similar to the building they stayed in temporarily that blew up would be more suitable. Penthouse apartment at the top, normal residents in fancy apartments throughout, sub level basements half a mile underground for the gym, archery range, links to Oracle etc and access to the subways and sewers for going out on patrol

I'm a bit in disagreement with that. Even if there are common things between GA and bats, I would hate to see GA become a batman-like character. He has a big potential and I think he nneds to find his own roots by himself. "ub level basements half a mile underground for the gym, archery range, links to Oracle etc and access to the subways and sewers for going out on patrol" seems to be too much be-prepared- batman-like style.
the write is trying to build a bit the universe of GA and Black Canary, which is fine for me. I was not sure about the hero-cop relationship because, it was copying batman, but then again, who knows what will it become then ? Maybe similar, maybe different.
the last issue was good but too short because of these "origin and omen" things. Too bad. I enjoy the bad girl but the suit seems to be a little off. I don't know. just a girl in green pants. And her motivations seem, not bad at all, but quite simplistic, IMO.
I wait and see, but I expect more from this book than what I have right now. for the moment, it is solid, so it is OK.
The art is fine for me. Maybe a little static, but overall it's OK. I'm being patient because I know the writer wants to explore the potential of GA & BC, so I'll see where it all leads.

Last issue was great again. Not THAT great but that was really solid. And honestly ... I'm "happy" that the writer cleans things a little bit, I mean ... killing those villains. That is what I was expecting from the crisises : a big clean up of some of the useless villain. I think it is good and Green Arrow needs a little cleaning. the art is improving IMO and the story while not WORLD-ROCKING class is pretty solid and I like it. I do not like the suit of the new villain girl.
the only thing I complain is the fact that Black Canary is THAT close of appearing like the sidekick. come on the character is great, Ollie is too, to mess with her please. she is an amazing character in my opinion, and Gail simone's Birds of Prey give her justice.

Yeah, my main complaint about this series (be it Kriesberg or Winick writing) is that Black Canary is a supporting character with her name in the title. She has a rogues gallery she built up from her days in the Birds of Prey, and I want to see Kreisberg mine from it as soon as this Cupid story is over.

I'm a little worried about the rift forming between them. I'm all for some rough sailing in a supercharacter marriage. But taking Ollie down the overly violent route to push them apart is a little too much for me. What seems a little odd is the implication that he'd kill Merlyn with an arrow to stop him once and for all. He might be glad that those 3rd tier villains are dead (or at least not feeling bad about someone havcing taken them out), but he's had more personal tragedy that could've pushed him closer to killing in recent years (not counting the time he killed) than current events, and hasn't even looked at that line let alone come close to crossing it.

The man is good enough that he could take out both Merlyn's hands so that the damage would make him useless with a bow for months

I have a feeling Ollie's shot is going to just badly wound Merlyn, the the wires Cupid tied him to are going to trigger something to kill him.

She's surprisingly resourceful for a beginner. Ridiculously so, in fact.

Well I think it is time to bump this thread.
Last issue was a bit confusing for my taste but was OK. The more I see Cupid , the more I enjoy her. But discord ? ... .... .... mmmh nope. the whole cyber-arm is too much for me. And I do not see the oint of being so hatefull if he can still hear things and give a wonderful gift to humanity with his technology. But maybe it is part of his character : I mean, being bad and turn out to be a kind of Pr Hamilton for GA and BC.
I was complaining it was more a GA book, but I am really satisfied that BC takes front stage. It is not as good as the beautiful run of G.Simone BoP.
The art is OK, it is not mind blowing at all, but it is solid and I have the impression it is getting better and better, so it is more than fine for me. The art on city seems a bit weak thus. I do not know where is the writing going with these 2 news bad guys and with the heroes. Now that the idea are introduced, I think it is not that hard to make something good out of Green Arrow and Black Canary.
I am enjoying the book and the simpleness of it. I just hope it will be better and better.

I just don't see why Ollie is apparently heading down this dark path. Nothing evil has happened to him recently - he just had to pursue a known assassin who he's fought a dozen times before. It seems a bit forced.

I dropped Green Arrow/Black Canary a few issues ago. Ollie's emotional troubles, the rift in the Queens' marriage-- it all felt so forced and out of nowhere. Everyone's acting like something is wrong with Ollie, and there was no build-up to it at all.

I wasn't crazy about the stuff with Connor, but I am really liking this Cupid villain. Discord...meh.

I think it's hysterical that this book started out as Green Arrow's and Green Arrow is now the back-up feature.

Please!

So a few Questions cause I obviously missed the memo's:
1. This woman chasing GA is Crazy?
2. (Ref #1) Canary hasn't beat the dogwater out of her and sent her to the loony bin?
3. This guy who lost his hearing and went to the dark side because of it? Isn't there STAR tech that has been used before to fix this?
4. Why is Ollie so bent? what happened to get him pushing that line that everyone complains about?

1. Yeah her name is Cupid and she is "crazy". She decided that Ollie would be the perfect lover for her and she would do anything for him in her own twisted way.
2. Yes she did but it was a tie because she had to free Ollie. And last time Cupid appeared, Dinah was not around.
3. I don't know but I find a bit weak for a motivation. Even more because he has not lost everything. He is partially hurt. meh. Maybe he will become better later ...
4. Well, I think it is a bit forced too, but I disagree with Chris Moore, he does not need a special fake event to declare war on the villains. Ollie is just fed up with this good-good ******** (in his eyes) and he just does not know so clearly where he has to stop. I think it has always been part of Green Arrow so I do not have a problem with it. I see this as part of the big continuity. But I agree with Chris Moore, it is a bit forced IMO. I think the writer should take more time build up this.
As I said I hope it will be better and better.

Anyone think we might have a Blackest Night sideline to the book coming up? As in, in the book proper; not just a few pages in the Blackest Night books themselves.

From Wiki: "he revenants forming the Black Lantern Corps resent with fierce hate the beings who cheated death, including Superboy, Superman, Hal Jordan, Oliver Queen and the Hawkmen, coveting to return them to their natural state of death, meaning the start of an intense manhunt of them"

The book seems to be falling again. I don't really like this back up feature thing they have going on at the moment. If you can't make the book work with the two of them in the same story, then don't bother trying to keep the title afloat by having them both on the banner. One story for Ollie and one for Dinah is just getting boring, and really cutting short the page time.

I agree with you the book is falling. the last issue was not really good, dare I say "average" ? ... I hate the split story, especially when the split story of Ollie was already a split story with the so-great Big game ! Wow !
I thought it was a good idea to erase some of the f-list villain, but not if it is to bring them back again. God, what a crappy character.
I'm not a confirmed writer nor a genius, but I think the writer has a lot of room for improvement and good writing ! I do not get it. He has 2 great characters, the beginning was good, but since the last issue ..... the average solid became average bad.
:(

i barely made it through winnicks terrible run then i suffered through the horrible first issue from kriesberg... i dropped that **** like hot coal
