Sequels The new Spider-Man

Thats what I thought too, could have sworn there was an article awhile back confirming this.
Julie Taymor wanted him as Spider-Man having worked with him on the beautiful "Across the universe". But the musical is probably a commitment for too long a period for a young actor well on his way to stardom.

Well, it's not like the same people are working on the movies and the musical.
it's like saying that they all should stop working on the comics and the animated series and focus on the new movie.
Not the same people, but the two idiotic ass studios (Marvel/Sony) are behind it, and did it have to be something with even MORE singing and dancing for gripe sake? Comic books and cartoons go hand-in-hand. My point is, Marvel will ****e out Spider-Man to anyone that will hand them a check, even for something as stupid as a musical, in which Spider-Man have no place being in.

More family-oriented, soccer mom appreciated, watered-down, pansy ass, *****-facing, singing and dancing Spider-Man, can't wait. Why don't they just throw a f---ing dress on this character and be done with it, I mean he's already missing his balls. :whatever:

Again, this is Spidermans SECOND muscial, not his first...

So could everyone stop treating it like it can't be done.

Technically it's a Universal Attraction, but at Universal Studios in California, a musical version of Spider-Man was produced, combining singing and live action sequences. The musical re-enacted the Green Goblin arc. It came in 2002, and stayed til '04.

Not technically Broadway, but it is officially Spidey's first musical. And I also do remember a musical where Spidey was saving Betty Brant from teh Lizard. Don't know if the latter one was official though.

Nah, that's not a musical, it's not a real musical until it hits Broadway.

Bull****.

Many popular musicals have not made it to Broadway.

Too bad Sturgess won't be in on it. That would have been wonderful.

Yeah, I know, like Sweeney Todd, lol. Seriously, I'm talking about musicals on Broadway, not until then will Spider-Man, unfortunately, become an official musical.

And I hope it never happens.

Wait I thought they already casted Jim Sturgess for the musical?

what happened to that guy from the movie 21? I thought he was Spider-Man?

Now, remember back when we told you how Across the Universe director Julie Taymor was directing a Spider-Man: The Musical, with music and lyrics from U2's Bono and the Edge? Well, at the time, Taymor said she was interested in Sturgess playing Spider-Man, with Evan Rachel Wood playing Mary Jane. Not only is that true, but apparently Sturgess and Wood have already performed the roles. He says, "We actually have done a workshop for it, which is how this all kind of started. [Taymor] asked me and Evan to come down and do this workshop that she was doing, so it was a chance to work with Julie again and Evan again and, yeah, at that point I didn't know much more about it. We just did two weeks, and we kind of hung out with Bono and the Edge and sung songs about Spider-Man. As a young actor and musician, it was an incredible experience to be involved in that."

He continued, "We then sort of did a rough performance of the play -- like a read through where we sang through the songs and stuff. As ridiculous as it sounds, it's going to be an incredible piece of work." Cinematical asked Sturgess whether that meant he would be starring in the musical, to which he replied: "Um, I don't know. I haven't spoken to Julie since, and I don't know when she plans to do it. It's a timing thing, I guess. I don't know how long it's going to be before it comes to the surface."
