*The New Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 61

However, I'm sure we can all agree that Birds of Prey was still the best thing that ever came out of that godawful DCEU right?

I like Far From Home general premise. It's really strong. Some of the execution is massively suspect, which makes for a weird movie, but that's all three MCU Spidey films if you ask me. Mysterio showcase is still top tier.
I think a lot of people are just put off by the general premise of Spidey leaving NYC for pretty much an entire film, but we already had 7 flicks set there. I think it was okay to take a vacation.

Never got that one, it's such a great Spidey premise! Peter wants to selfishly have some downtime to escape responsibility, but life won't let him. Such a promising idea.

I really didn't care for Far From Home when it came out, it just seemed so weightless and whatever to me. BUT, I feel like No Way Home made both FFH and Homecoming a lot better in hindsight having seen where the movie takes Peter by the end and seeing how his overall three movie arc played out.

I mean, the best part of Homecoming was him being the Neighborhood Spidey, so yeah, I object to taking that away.

That puts it after the snap. :funny:
8 years have passed between Iron Man and Civil War. Also, Civil War is 2 years after The Winter Soldier, which is 2 years after The Avengers. Homecoming is two months after Civil War, but also 8 years after The Avengers. Infinity War is 6 years after Avengers, and two years after Homecoming. Iron Man 2 is 6 months after Iron Man, which also takes place in the same week as The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and the ending of The First Avengers. Thor is one year before Avengers. You guys following all of that?

With allt his tumultuous news I would not be surprised if Trump bans the Superman film because he doesn't say Truth, Justice, and the American way anymore.

And of course people will now think Flanagan's style will be completely gone lol everybody here has loved films with multiple drafts and writers. Not all that concerned about this.

I mean. The selling point of the movie is Flanagan. Him not directing it was already a problem but lessened by the fact his voice would always be stronger than the fairly anonymous director. It’s not a great sign that a great writers work is being rewritten by someone who is, at best, a journeyman.

To be entirely fair - I don’t think Flanagan would have been available for rewrites in general. So, there’s that nuance.
