The Next Bond?

As far as Ioan Gruffud, I'm still waiting for him to reach that level of acting that catches my attention. I'm sure that he can do it, but his Mister Fantastic does nothing for me.

His take on Mr Fantastic is the reason why I want him to keep away from the Bond franchise at all cost.

The reason why I chose Jonathan Rhys Meyers is because he's about the same height as Daniel Craig, he's about 28 now so by the time Craig's done, he'll be in his 30s, which is a suitable age, great actor, has a killer British accent, I didn't even know he was Irish (doesn't sound like an irishman) and if you have any doubts about his ruthlessness, ambition, sophistication and Bond-type style, I sugegst you go watch the woody allen film, matchpoint, a somewhat surprisingly brilliant movie.

Gruffold would be a horrible choice IMO.

After Craig makes his three Bond films, then I would like to see Gerard Butler be the next Bond. Nobody else comes close IMO. He may be considered too old by the time Craig is done though. If he remains in tremendous shape within the next 5 years...then you never know.

Even in good shape, he'll look his age. Logically, the successor of Craig is at least ten years yougner than him right now.

Henry Cavill should be next up. After Craig's run, Cavill will be older and just right for the role.

Yeah....Rhys-Meyers and Cavill should definitely be candidates to replace Craig.

I hope Craig stay around for at least 5 or so. After that they can recast Bond to a more younger actor.

Clive Owen will be older than Daniel Craig when Craig hangs up the tux so unless you want another Roger Moore in AVTAK-looking Bond, I'd suggest going with someone else. Although I do agree that, right now, if Craig hadn't gotten it Owen would have been my first choice.

Nah, Bale won't ever do Bond not after he's batman. Personally, I think Bale looks maturer than he actually is. It would have been better for him to be Bond now.

Roger Moore was older then Connery and he still replaced him. anyway i think Clive Owens voice is wrong for the role, he just doesnt sound like Bond to me.

also Ioan was really great in Amazing Grace this year, barely anyone saw it, but it was a really good movie with strong performances

Good point on Moore and Connery. Actually, I believe it was Connery that got Moore the job to play Bond. But this whole "this actor will be older than Craig", I don't think it matters. It's happened before, why not again?

well, remembering that he said just before Begins that he almost didn´t do Batman because it could ruin his chances of being Bond later, I don't think he'll turn it down if it's offered to him.
