He said the option was "Explored" meaning Marvel tried to incorporate Garfield into the MCU, and that clearly wasn't the case. Marvel stated right from the get go that they did NOT want to use Garfield's Spider-Man, that was the only way the deal was going to work.

If I remember correctly, he actually said Marvel wasn't open to that idea. That it was mostly Sony and Amy Pascal's doing.

Not every actor gets to screen test. And if you think it's not a short list and redditleaker is the guy you trust, more power to you then.

Obviously, the short list is integrated by the more likely actors to get the role at the moment. And no, the others AREN'T the same age of O'Brien neither he is in contention for the role. Seriously though, ain't nobody got time for that. I'm done.

I don't trust redditleaker, but I'm not too sure whether or not I trust that these guys are the strongest candidates just 'cause Jeff has heard their names repeatedly. He himself even stated that there are other actors up for the role that he has no clue about. For all we know, one of those mystery actors might already have the role and Marvel hasn't even told that actor yet. Which, to the public, would make it seem like the casting is still going when it's not.
