Why do you need to be right though? Why not just stick to your gut and if you're wrong you're wrong? You'll have comfort in the fact that you don't mind some of the other actors likely to get the role should O'Brien not get it. I want O'Brien for Spidey and even if most of the odds are stacked against him getting it right now I still think he's going to end up being Spidey. If I'm wrong, so be it. It's not the end of the world. Whoever Marvel ends up picking will be a great Spidey, but while it's up in the air and anyone is still technically a contender I'll be damned if I'm going to go with the sure pick so I don't get let down. I've thought Dylan would be perfect for the role since they announced the reboot with a new Spider-Man. And I'll continue to root for him until the day someone else is cast. I'd feel phony wanting anyone else to get the role. If you really want him, there's no shame in saying it. If someone else gets cast, we're all going to love that actor eventually. Don't give up on what you want just because some people told you it might not happen. That's what Spider-Man would tell you.My bad.let me explain it better:
My true pick is still Dylan, I think he is perfect for the role in literally EVERY way. but I'll change to Asa (my second pick, who I have been consistent with for nearly 2 weeks now) because most likely Marvel are looking for actual teens ans I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket and come out ruined, it has happened in the past for me.
For instance; a) if five sources came out and said that Dylan is out the race and that Marvel are looking for an actual teen, my hope for Dylan will cease to exist, but it won't be totally destroyed.
B) Sneider drops a shortlist of candidates, Kevin Feigue confirms that Peter will be 15/16, my hope is obliterated and I'll change to Asa again.
