There will be something else someone will always find something, like for instance what the costume will be made of

What will we care more about, though? On a relative scale, nothing else matters compared to this particular casting.

If Asa is cast, they will definitely have to hire a humour coach. :o

I think if the actor's announced and I'm not a big fan of him, like most of you guys I hope by now, I'll be thinking "okay, maybe he is pretty good" rather than "wtf, why him!?". Marvel won't get this wrong. Just like every other character in the MCU, the actor they pick will be the perfect one for the role.

And that's exactly why Sony/Marvel want to cast an actual teenager. Andrew and Tobey both weren't believable as teenagers. they both received complaints from critics, Andrew more so.
They want to do something different instead of following the trend in Hollywood and past films. time for something unique and fresh and Sony knows it.
Dylan doesn't look like a 15 or 16 year-old. he could BARELY pass for a 17 year-old but even then it still looks off.

He's best suited for a College Spider-Man franchise where Peter is already 19 years old.
He would best play a 19 year old? Like next year when they film IWs?
If he can barley play 17 now, that means with the time warp he will then be barley playing 18 when spider-man is 18 or 19. :)
No stretch even.
That's if Sony/Marvel are looking for an actor that fits well in the long run.
Hey, if Butterfield was casted that means he did they best interpretation of Peter Parker/Spider-Man out of god knows how many actors auditioned.
Well... that means he did the best out of who they auditioned, which would not mean the best if they narrow their minds to only allowing 20- actors.

I get what you mean after this headache is over its clear skies from here.....umm hopefully

Because Marvel/SONY are perfect and would never make a mistake...
riiight....
TOo many people have stated this, when in reality there is a chance Sony/Marvel will mess up big. Especially since Amy has just as much say as Kevin, and then they have to have it approved by Sony after they choose. I understand Sony and Amy will probably listen to Kevin, but who knows if they will for one, and for two, what are the chances that they wouldn't disagree on anything? Pretty slim.

There is no such thing as a "Time Warp" Dylan can't pass for a 15 year-old, end of story.

I remember the last time someone brought up the idea that critics were complaining about Andrew's age, and I remember finding very few that actually did.

They want to do something different instead of following the trend in Hollywood and past films. time for something unique and fresh and Sony knows it.

I just don't get this. I don't get where the idea that Marvel/Sony/Whoever is bucking some "trend" is coming from. Casting older is not a bad thing. I've quoted this before and I'll quote it again:
Ultimately realize that that there is nothing fundamentally wrong with this trope, all forms of entertainment are about the illusion and with that in mind what really matters is if you believe in the character. At the same time this is not about age discrepancies, just being three or four years older doesn't mean the production is "trying to pull a fast one" on the audience. If anything finding a 19 year old to play a 17 year old is well ahead of the curve.

This is an established practice in Hollywood and beyond for a reason. Pay, working conditions, school, stunt work, etc. are all impacted by the age of the actor.

Now, Marvel/Sony aren't looking at people under eighteen. The short list showed that to us. So they are already looking at people who are older than the character age. They are already doing the very thing you seem to imply they are pushing against. And I am all for that.

Does that mean they might be looking at actors older than 20. Maybe. But probably not.

But overall, they aren't doing anything new or rebelling against that "horrible Hollywood trend" or anything. They're already Dawson Casting. I don't get trying to argue that they aren't.

Neither does this dude.

And he's 16

He looks younger than Dylan, though.

I dont think so. This whole age thing is very Subjective though.

Look at Evan Peters who just played a teenager in Days Of Future Past. No one batted an eye at that. Hes 28

You still don't understand the time warp?
I'm not going to explain it another hundred times.
You can think whatever you want and not look into what i meant by time warp though. GO ahead, believe what you want no matter what the facts say. :o
Who is the other guy?
Some kid from Teen Wolf. I forget the kids name.

On another note:

Not even worth discussing.
There are some news reporters who must not know a thing of what the are talking about. First they claim Spider-Man will be a female, then they claim Spider-Man will be Peter Parker. Then they go on to make half their post 2 giant block quotes. I just find it funny. :woot:
Thought I would share it.

Fixed. :hehe:

Some people look at the age rather than the age look.
You can try to reason with em, but for now it's a disagreement that can't be settled by facts. It is more subjective than that.
:/

I can't be the only one who goes to High-School on this forum right? I KNOW what a teenager looks like.

We can know how old someone will be when they film, if we look at the date they plan on filming it. We can know facts from this. Obviously they could change their plans, but Marvel has clearly presented dates for movie releases.

I go to HS and Dylan would fit in with my 10 or 11 grade classes.
In fact he looks younger than some of the kids in my class.
Not sure what world you live in that 15 year olds look like pre-teens. :p

I AM looking at his look rather than age and again, if Dylan came to my School and went to my brother's class, he would look VERY out of place among all the other 15/16 year olds.

Haha, I could say the same about you, what world do you live in? almost every 15 year-old I know looks 14/13, very FEW of them look like they're in their late teens.

Most of the teens in my town look young.
