Again we know filming with spidey will be in june. So logically we have to have the reveal soon enough. No way it will be dragged out much longer.

I want to be optomistic, but I literally just can't anymore.

Well folks will probably get more excited once we know spidey is filming and see some pics.

In case rumors are true and Asa Butterfield is the new Peter Parker, I decided to make this out of boredom. I think Asa looks like Peter and certainly has what it takes to become the successor to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Saved! :woot: :D

I hate to admit that while I still want Dylan more than any other actor. I'm curious to see what a younger actor like Asa or Holland would be like. Of course not curious enough to make me stop rooting for Dylan.

He ain't out until someone else is cast! ;)

Never a bad thing to keep hope alive, even though he probably won't get the role.

Just because Asa Butterfield hasn't shown comedic chops in previous roles does not mean he cant do it. Asa is one of the most respected young actors in Hollywood and that should tell all of you something. He has the dramatic chops down, which is half the battle and he's still in his youth. He is a kid, he can absolutely bring the fun and reverent personality that will be needed. Its not that difficult to be a wisecracking Spider-Man, especially when scripts exist.

What about the fact that it's obvious he's British?

Just deleted some posts. Keep it civil, folks.

Andrew Garfield was obviously British too. Its called acting, which is what is in question here. If Marvel's interested in Asa and he's gotten as far as the final two candidates, I'm pretty sure Marvel has already figured out he can do an American accent.

Yep, pretty much. Thanks for helping me clarify.

Alright, sorry for calling you stupid. That was uncalled for. However, I don't agree with your assessment that he's too British looking. He doesn't. That might just be an issue that you have, not being able to get over his accent.

I could buy Butterfield as an American kid easily.

No, to me he just wouldn't fit in the classroom in the states. He'd look out of place.
