Don't get me wrong. I think he's a good actor, just not as Peter Parker. Additionally, he doesn't look anything like Peter Parker to me. Obviously, the chosen actor should be able to act, but in terms of looks, Ditko & Romita are the highest of standards that should be met.

I'm 99% sure he actually said, "Oh, you're so cute!" Because I'm pretty sure you're thinking of this moment.
Which is horribly cringey on the fan's side since she sort of has an emotional breakdown, but isn't at all the same level of, "Oh my god, you're so hot." He's mostly just being nice.
Plus I follow a Teen Wolf gossip tumblr which has never mentioned a "hot" comment, and they spend 90% of their time debating whose the worst cast member. If he had said that, it would be used as ammunition in every other fight there. I can direct you to some allegedly shady stuff with him if you're interested though.

Frankly, I get what you're saying. He strikes me as very "dude bro"--despite any nervousness/shyness he has. You not seeing him as Peter makes sense to me.

Yea, I had to paraphrase because I couldn't remember the exact wording.

If you like him it's cool, he is a good actor.

I grew up on Ditko, Romita Sr & Jr, & Stern, so that's just where my heart lies for Peter's look and personality.

It's weird to talk about him as a potential Spider-Man, to be honest. My love of him and my love of Spider-Man are two very separate things that I thought would always remain two separate things. It's weird that they're not separate now, and it makes me weirdly conflicted. I don't like it. So I'll be glad when someone is cast so that they can go back to being two very separate things.

I am relieved to know that I am not the only one who thinks Dylan doesn't resemble Peter.
 
Everybody's got opinions, but I'm stunned that you guys don't see just how striking Dylan's resemblance is to 616 Peter. O'Brien looks like Parker taken straight out of a page, not just in looks, but in personality also.

I'm convinced that the actor has recently just been cast otherwise he won't have that much time to prepare for the role in Civil War.

I'm not going to get my hopes up, so I think that's a healthy way of looking at it. But I will say this: Mayimbe said that we'll get an announcement before Memorial Day. At a minimum, we'll know whether he's right or wrong about that before the end of the week.

In fact, if they do plan to announce before Memorial Day, today is the best day to do it. I doubt they'll announce it Friday or on the weekend. Thursday still allows all the news people to cover it.

Its not today, it's never when we want it to be.
 
Why? Marvel have announced things on every day of the week, minus weekends.

Thursday is the primary day Marvel usually makes a huge announcements, so I'm expecting the news to drop today.
