I feel as if today is the most likely day to get something as it's the last Thursday before Memorial Day. Are you guys pumped to get let down like I am?

Yeah, I feel like we're not getting anything today. At this point the name will be leaked if they don't announce it this month. Marvel and Sony are really pushing their luck.

Do you want to break into Marvel studios with me and steal the costume? We'll show Marvel the consequences of making the fans wait... :sus

So, time and time again this year so far we've heard from scoopers and (likely) trolls claiming as if they are so certain that we will get an announcement within X days or weeks.

Are there any of these "scoopers" who have been proven to be wrong by now? Any "scooper" who should crawl to the cross?

It's so easy to forget so it seems "scoopers" never have to admit that they're wrong or made it up.

All but confirmed is not confirmed.
I understand your technical standpoint, but what do you have to say about actors confirming the rumors? Also, would it make more sense for him to be in Ant-Man or Dr. Strange? All things point to Civil War.

The didn't confirm anything, they just discussed how they would interact with Spider-Man. That's not a confirmation, that's just movie talk.

Has it actually been confirmed that Spidey will apear in Civil War? Perhaps he won't be in the movie and only have an after/mid-credits scene?

As much as I hate the idea, it's still a possibility right?

Chris Evans replied with a "That's the buzz" when asked if Spider-Man will be in Cap 3.

RDJ was asked about Spidey being in the film and said, “He may well be, yeah. I hear they’re looking to cast a new Spider-Man.” That pretty much confirms it for me, I think they're just waiting until they cast Spidey for the official announcement. It's pretty awkward confirming Spidey will be in Civil War without revealing the actor. It's not Marvel's style.

If Fiege , any of the Sony producers or the Russos say he is in it then I'll take that as confirmation.

You're being very fussy and technical about this, but you're definitely not wrong. Like I said, they'll announce it once they have their Spider-Man. No need to worry.

Well, to be honest, Airwings and Hellion kinda nailed it...

Asa would be more akin to how Keaton approached Batman; very idiosyncratic. A lot of people were surprised by how dark a Batman Keaton was able to portray, because he was largely known for being a comedian. Interestingly enough, Keaton used a fair amount of his comedic skill in his take on Bruce Wayne, using it to highlight Bruce's struggles in interacting with other people. While I do think we'd see the darker/quieter elements of Asa's acting in his take on Peter, I think he might also surprise people in his comedic elements too. It likely wouldn't be an exact portrayal of Peter, but it'd likely be very well-done and something very interesting to see. More of a risk, but I think there'd be more of a special payoff from it too.

Although Tom is also a very brilliant actor like Asa, I think his take on Spidey would ultimately be considerably "safer." He'd be much warmer in the role, like Kilmer was as Batman. We'd likely get a fair amount of goofiness and charm from his Peter.
Who would be the Clooney and the Bale of the possible actors for Spidey? :yay:

Man, I'm pretty sure it was confirmed, but now you got me doubting it. I'm sure someone here remembers.

He could have a credits scene in any of those. Or Ant-Man
Not. Sure. If. Serious. would it even make sense for Spider-Man to show up in a GOTG2/Doctor Strange Post Credits stinger? heck no!

He could appear in the post-credits sequence of Batman v Superman. :o

Well... it's not impossible for his first appearance to be one, but would a post credit scene even count as a PROPER first appearance? After all this hype surrounding his role in Civil War, it would freaking suck if his first appearance ended up being a 1 minute scene after the credits.

But anyway, he IS in Civil War, that is a fact. Between the Sony Leaks, common sense and the tons of credible trades confirming it (Variety, THR, The Wrap etc), you can't deny it.

The only question is... will it be Holland, Butterfield or somebody else? :wow:

Even in the leaked emails it was stated that Spider-Man would first appear as a Supporting role in Civil War before starring in his own solo film for 2017 (although that was an older version of the deal)

Spidey appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 wouldn't make ANY sense. Spidey appearing in Doctor Strange would feel ridiculously out of place. Spidey appearing in Ant-Man would sort of make sense, but it would feel wasted and cheap.

All the Trades have said Civil War, it is all but confirmed by Marvel themselves.

I wouldn't be surprised if Peter Parker (not as Spider-Man) made a very brief appearance in an post-credit scene at the end of Ant-Man. I think the mid-credit scene will be setting up for Civil War.
