Homecoming The Next Spider-Man - - - - - - - - - Part 18

Foundations will shake if Isaac gets cast!

Not so much if Riggs, the kid has some difficulty getting through a closed door.

Man again at work and when I got out was hoping for something. But now that it's 5 pm est. We likely not getting anything today.

I am am hedging my bets it be mon-wed next week and then actor starts shooting second week of june. I do hope once we know who it is we get some details on how long he is shooting.

Also ya for me still rooting for tom. I like him far better then asa for the role. Now sure if asa gets it. Congrats to him. I for sure be pissed for awhile. But in end hope he can hit the right marks for pete and spidey I want to see in the mcu.

As for dylan. I still would have really liked if he got the role. When his name came around. I only seen him in the Google movie. But he looks the role. Loves the character can do humor. He was hitting alot of the marks I want for spidey. Vs any one really on the short list.

I feel pretty much exactly the same way.

Same here as well. I feel like if Dylan can go toe to toe improving with the likes of Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson then he definitely has the chops to do quippy Spider-Man justice. And his dramatic chops are on par, too.

Totally that is why I was rooting for him for awhile. And still liked him even through the short list. But with knowing he wasn't likely by then. I pretty much settled with name from list who after looking up more on I felt could give me what I want out of mcu pete.

as someone else said, teen wolf, for better or for worse, shows that he has what it takes to stand out in an ensemble work with some comedic effect.

It basically depends on who Peter Parker is in this script. I haven't seen O'Brien act before and I don't watch Teen Wolf. He may make a good Spiderman in the abstract or in a broad sense, but may not fit this particular version of Peter Parker Spiderman for the MCU and the Sony Solo films. It really does depend on the what the script calls for. That's why fan casting tends to contradict real casting, because real casting is based on the character as written in the specific script. In that sense you can't just put an actor who has the general qualities you would expect in Peter Parker in the role.

The actor ultimately has to fit the vision of what the filmmakers are going for in that particular version, and that's often different from what fans think the character should be. Now of course, visions can change and adjustments can be made. They aren't so dogmatic that they aren't open to coming at a character from a different perspective than they intended. Still, it really does depend on what the filmmakers are going for and how they want to make this version of Peter Parker.

I'm watching TASM on FX right now with all the BTS stuff... and Andrew Garfield really was the freakin best. I'm so bummed his run got cut short :csad: :waa:

I would suggest Skyler Gisondo, but idk what his chances are because he played the stacy son in the tasm movies.

Okay dudes, there's a new development:

Are you ****ing ready?

Take a look at this:

Now scroll down to the comments. Tom is thanking someone called Franck Corbery the clocks that he gave him. That we already knew, but... take a look at the last posts:

Stanley Weber, an actor that was filming Pilgrimage with Tom Holland linked "oka_hey", which I presume is this Franck guy that he was thanking, because that's what he posted there:

oka_hey
@tomholland2013 you're more than welcome. Thanks for flying our flag. Good luck in LA.

"Good luck in LA"? Why LA? What is going on in LA? Why Asa got a flight to Atlanta and Tom is heading to LA? WHAT IS GOING ON?

I'm sure what this means.

Are they still screen testing?

 I really wish Marvel would just pick someone ALREADY. I was hoping that it was done so we could get this **** over with..

At this point I don't even care if it's Asa, Tom or even Jack Black! I just want them to cast the actor!

I thought we were close.

Maybe I'm just drunk, but TASM was the most underrated movie ever. Ok, that may be an exaggeration, but I'm literally falling apart at the finale of that movie. Damn it was great

on another note, YES, Marvel please just pick someone already :cmad:

That'd be TASM2 for me, lol.

Nothing is going on, Talion.

Asa probably got the role sometime ago and is now in Atlanta to shoot as Spidey later next week. Tom heading to LA is completely irrelevant; he's likely heading out to audition for a part in some other movie. They're actors, after all.
