Homecoming The Next Spider-Man - - - - - - - - - Part 18

With over 1500 auditions. Wow that's a lot, imagine those who got to audition something for them to remember.

Its pretty easy to see why ASM 2 gets hate. It was panned by critics, the villains were awful, bad musical choices , It wasn't even so much a Spiderman film as Sony's "Lets try to incorporate every popular franchise at the moment" film, the film didn't make as much money as even the last one did etc. In the end , Sony basically ended the franchise themselves by writing it into a corner. With Norman and Gwen dead, basically resolving the Richard Parker mystery, and tieing the rest of the Rouges gallery to Oscorp, and. Those spell "This franchise is over". Its no mystery to me why it got such a negative reception and why its over.

Garfield and Stone were good , and had they not been in the film, then it probably would have been worse.

Agreed, TASM 2 is awful...just awful. Complete cash grab and a disgrace to Spider-man.

I agree, I thought everyone had already accepted this, I guess not

To each their own, then.

I love TASM2 and you hate it, simple as that. :oldrazz:

Yep and I have several reasons as to why I think its terrible, which is why is wierd that some people to this day still don't know why others didn't like it, or worse trying to justify it by saying "it wasn't meant to be too good so its okay" :funny:

Oh, I know of the flaws and a lot of 'em bug me and I consider SM2 to be the better film, but TASM2 made me feel like I was reading a comic book plastered on the big screen.

For that reason along with numerous others, it still comes out on top, personally.

Seesh went here first before other thread. And right now for me my picks are tom or charlie. Mintz lewis and plummer don't have look and I don't know there skills.

As for asa I would take him over mintz lewis and plummer. But he would be 3rd under charlie and tom. So rooting for tom and Charlie right now.

Well I've never had a problem with people who know how to separate their personal enjoyment from the objective quality of a film :D

Its cool having more than one actor to root for now

Ya cause we where going around and around with tom and asa. Though still there is so many factors with asa I don't like and don't wsnt to see him oicked. Where as I said before tom has qualities I like and think would be good. And rowe when folks talked about him before seemed like another. Then his name poofed awhile ago. But he is a name I could take too. So hopefully it's tom or charlie.

Isn't really anyone a contender at this point? I wouldn't be surprised if it were neither Asa or Tom. No one expected Garfield, no one expected Cumberbatch, no one expected Pratt, I mean, if we should be ruling anyone out it should be the people who are front and center. They're always the smokescreens.
Who mean like nobody would expect that Super 8 kid Joel Courtney to get cast. He seemed to have a bright future ahead of him but just vanished away. Could he get back in the game with Spider-Man? Should he? Does he deserve it?

Other unexpected actors for the part would be Troye Sivan, Lucas Hedges and Nick Robinson (who was a favorite here before)

God that short-list sucks. If it has to be out of that tho then Charlie Rowe for sure

every Marvel movie ever has been more of a cash grab than TASM2. The Peter/Gwen love story is better than any in a CBM ever, hands down, not even debatable IMO. For that reason alone it's better than most other CBMs

I would take a movie that reaches for the stars and tries to do really incredible things that ends up with a few "flaws," than a by-the-books GA pleaser that does nothing extraordinary, keeping it safe and ensuring there are no "flaws" (literally ever Marvel movie ever made. Not bad at all, but could/will never deliver some of the scenes we got in TASM2. Peter/Gwen, Peter/Aunt May, I literally cried during them. Never have even come close to getting misty-eyed in an MCU film. And truly not trying to bash the MCU. I just hate how everyone thinks their movies are of such a higher quality than everything else when they just aren't at all)

I also love this term "flaws" too. Like it's the defining characteristic of any movie. How many "flaws" did this/that movie have, like it's something you count and tally up at the end, and that determines what movie's better than another. When did that become the measuring stick? Especially when it's subjective. One person's 'flaw' might be another's favorite part

The thing is, since Marvel have gone worldwide and held 1500 auditions, I wouldn't be surprised if they found a complete unknown like Star Wars did with Daisy Ridley to head the franchise. Seems like they've found a few already.

Okay, why is everybody taking about ASM 2 instead of this new report? We're getting three new candidates yet you're debating whether ASM 2 was ****** or not.

For me in no order my top two are rowe and holland. But hearing of the other charlie in other thread he is a 3rd pick.

So if any of those 3 are pocked. I think I be happy and interested in seeing what they bring to the role.

Lintz and lewis I don't see pete or spidey out of them. And with them around 14 I don't like them being that young on top f factors like labor laws and schooling for them.

And asa like I said before good actor. Just hate his look. And don't think he would fit the role just right. But he would be 4th after holland rowe plummer and I would take him over the other two.

I'd say Asa , Tom, Rowe, or plumber. The other two really do look too young for the part . I'm for casting a teen, but if youre casting a 14 year old , you likely want the character he's playing to be 10-12, and those other kids look barely like junior high students .

Rowe, O'Brien or bust. :o

 I agree.

Charlie Rowe is the perfect Spidey imo. Charlie Plummer is a good second pick. Asa would be ok I guess.

No! You just got me to change my mind for the millionth time.

Rowe's my current pick...and one of the few I'm familiar with...

Waiting for an announcement, me = :loco:

Tom Holland or Charlie Rowe for Peter Parker. Asa Butterfield for Harry Osborn and Dylan O'Brien for Eddie Brock. There! :p

I'm finally excited about the casting now with these added names! There's alot of potential between these new actors...but man...Rowe is an amazing actor and has the look even more so than garfield!
