Have you seen him lately?

Because I struggle with believing that a simple change in dress is going to change that.

He's probably my least favorite choice being suggested so far. I sat through him in season four of Teen Wolf. Not particularly a fan.

Yet some people think this will be believable as a superhero who fights crime on a daily basis:

Honestly, the "*****e-looking" comments are completely out of nowhere and rather odd.

Hell, I don't even use that as a reason anymore as to why I dislike an actor 'cause it's just so random. Same thing with "weird-looking, creepy", etc.

If you wanna make an argument as to why an actor is wrong for the role, don't base it off of one's name or looks (completely, though they are a factor; just not a great one) -- watch what they've been in.

I mean, that's what I first did with O'Brien then I realized how foolish that was so I actually went into watching some of the stuff he's been in and that's where I came to the conclusion that I wouldn't wanna see him in the role because he's just very mediocre to me.

His character in Teen Wolf did absolutely nothing for me, The First Time was just a very bad TV film and I had a hard time believing him as Dave, especially compared to how he was a hipster in The Internship (another throwaway movie with two used-to-be-funny comedians), and The Maze Runner was another glorified YA film with the only actor I actually found to be tolerable (in that) being Sangster.

So, those are the main reasons but other smaller reasons stem from on here, like the various pictures, gifs, etc. aka being "shoved down our throat", and his look (which I find to be a bit smug for a character like Peter Parker).

He's not a terrible actor by any means, but I don't find him anything remotely special either.

I guess that's why I've been throwing out names like Lerman, Martella, Everett, Highmore, etc. (and being able to appreciate names like Issac, Asa, etc.). because I see a more likable approach and a sense of warmth that I want for Peter Parker as well as charm for Spider-Man (though Highmore would be a great Harry, too.).

It also helps that I just like them as actors, especially Highmore who has a a lot of range which would help greatly in playing basically two characters (obviously just one) and he has a really good understanding of the character (or at least what I want from it):

You always feel like you can identify with him. He's that kind of guy at school who wasn't perhaps in the really cool group, but who was extremely intelligent and managed to find confidence in being Spider-Man - in this other side to his life.

Anyway, I rambled enough. :oldrazz:

Yep, but if they wanted to do a high school trilogy (along with the MCU appearances), he still works.
I think he might be a little too old for the age-range Marvel going for, tho.
Only three years younger than O'Brien.

He JUST turned 20 in January, though. That isn't too bad and plus, the rumored age list for actors playing Peter is apparently 15-20, so he fits.

Can we then instead Spectacular Spider-Man title get Teen Spider-Man

I'm fine with it, I guess.

We've had two series' now where they rushed him out of high school and into adulthood.

If a high school setting is what we're getting, I want them to commit to it.

I don't want HS at all but if they're going that way I really hope its a strong element of the film as opposed to be just there completely irrelevant to his life.

Andrew played a HS student when he was 27, if a 20 year old is hired he would get to the third film and still be younger than 27(if we get 1 film every 2 years).

Isn't the rumoured age range 16-19? there has to be a limit to how old they can go. and I think 20 is pushing it, regardless of when he turned that age.

Going canonically, they cant dole out three high school movies because Peter would end up like 6 years in high school

First film: Freshman/Junior
Second film: Sophomore
Third film: Senior

Casting Director: So what about Dylan Everett? He's 19 right?
Assistant: No, he turned 20 today
Casting Director: Dammit! now we can't hire him...

I still think he'd be fine.

I mean, look at him:

Even when he was playing younger Dean (and still trying to be an adult) on Supernatural, he looked like this:
