Ya I wouldn't want to get stuck with a crappy teen actor. If we can go 20 to 24 we can still do a bunch of films with them before they even get to 28 yrs old. And really if they stay young looking or with makeup cloths can fudge the age I don't see it as a problem. It's no different then tv or film does.

Frodo even if they want to start with a 15 or 16 yr old peter who likely be freshmen age. By the time of either infinity war 2 or if they can get 3rd solo out by 2020 they have to have the character be 18 to 19 yrs old. No way they try and say peter is forever at 15 16 yrs old. And if he is in a bunch of mcu films and they state yr and his age they can't play with hs time for longer then end of phase 3. Just wouldn't work at all.

Actually, Dylan O'Brien doesn't really look any older than any of those actors I "suggested" above who are about 18 or 19. So I don't think he looks too old at all.

But the other thing is that if people are going by the argument that a younger actor can grow into the role and might look better as they mature, well look at 18 year old Joey Bragg from Liv & Maddie:

Would you really want a Peter who looks like that?

Well, I don't know about Joey Bragg and Blake Michael. Bragg, in particular, looks as bad as Isaac.

I'll agree the others don't look so bad. Corey Fogelmanis might even look decent when he's older, but he looks very young right now and more like he's 12.

But Blake Michael, Austin North and Peyton Clark do not look any younger than Dylan O'Brien, so he could just as easily play a 17-18 year old.

Why do we make them out THAT bad? Kid actors may not be all there in the talent department, but they win awards all the time - the most deserving ones of course.
I hear people saying there is no such thing as good kid actors...Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver, anyone? 12 years old...

I guess some of these kid actors could be okay. At least nearly all the ones I've just suggested have some experience in comedy. Most of them are pretty cringe-worthy though, but perhaps that could be because of the lowest common denominator-type humour in these Disney shows.

Yeah...in Taxi Driver the only one who did the best acting was the taxi itself
