I get more of a Harry Osborn vibe from Dylan.

Marvel has a pretty solid batting average when it comes to casting their heroes.

If (IF) Marvel has say over who our next Spider-Man will be, they'll get the right guy. It's if Sony retains creative control/casting that this topic really comes into play.

If he's cast, and the people who called Garfield "*****ey" accept him, then there's something wrong with the world :o

I'm cool with O'Brien or Lerman.

But just for fun Jeremy Shada, the voice of Finn on Adventurer Time.

This is amusing:

I guess that's what you call acting and direction, my fellow spider-fan. If Garfield, who looks like a nice guy in rl, came off as *****ey in the movie, then opposite can happen with O'Brien.

O'Brien doesn't seem *****ey at all to me. I've heard he's incredibly nice in person and at Cons. Peter's supposed to be a well-meaning but immature teen, that's the impression I got with Garfield's interpretation, and I'm sure O'Brien is more than capable of pulling that off.

The new actor should be able to act despite being covered head to toe. Garfield was excellent as Spider-Man, Maguire had to take his mask off every two seconds.

YES. The body language was great, especially in the Times Square scene when he's trying to talk Max down. As has been said before, Marvel knows how to cast their heroes. I have faith we can get a choice at least as good as Garfield.

I can understand the misgivings for Garfield as Peter Parker as he was a little unlikeable (which for me is what a teen is, whatever) but I thought Garfield was an awesome Spider-Man. I will really miss him if he is gone. I was glad to see the back of Maguire after SM3. His crying scene over a dying Harry was a freaking disgrace, 'I' could have put in a better performance than that crap.

Also when he is telling Gwen to leave when Gwen shows up during the Electro fight. Ten bucks Maguire would have had his mask off for that.

I like Maguire less and less on repeated viewings.

Telling Aunt May he was responsible for Ben's death was a good scene. Other than that, nothing really stands out to me. And as Spider-Man I am going to say he was piss poor. Can't go back to a non character Spider-Man. That happens and not only will I be angry at Marvel for killing the marriage, killing Spectacular Spider-Man but also turning Spider-Man (in costume) back into a non character.

You mean asking Maguire back? I really don't think that'll happen. He's pushing forty, and continuity wise it'd be weird.
