The Nun - New Line's Next Conjuring Spinoff

Lets hope that it pulls an Annabelle and gets better with the sequel.
I hope so. Creation bring better than the first Annabelle was a pleasantly surprise to me.

So here's to The Nun Rises in two to three years.

I wonder if its gonna be time to end this franchise soon if they cant keep up the quality

Why would they when its already made more than 100 mil?

Conjuring is the main films and as long as those stay quality, the off shoots delving deeper into the demons aren't going to be that big of a dent.

problem is The Conjuring 3 is far away and WB doesn't bother to bring Lorraine and Ed to those spin-offs and cheaply using old footage

The problem is if all of the in between movies are bad people are gonna lose interest in the main movies since they are so far apart from each other

Saw it last night. It was enjoyable. Atmospheric and fun. Expectations weren't too high. Will end up being a good Halloween season movie. Looks like it more than made its budget back in the opening weekend. My guess is that they'll invent more things to include in the TCU.

How far away is it?

Looking at the box-office yeah this franchise is still selling like hot cakes and not just domestically either, because those OS numbers are pretty staggering as well. I just hope the quality doesn't keep diminishing or it becomes too inconsistent with the future installments, especially The Conjuring franchise.

Worst of the series. It's biggest crime was boredom. 5/10
Annabelle 5.5/10 would rather watch that. Every horror cliche, predictable at every turn, bad editing. Only good thing was the acting. It was ok. Other than that not one good thing. Not even close to a decent scare anywhere.

It was passable. It had a confusing plot, but even if it didn't, the Father's character was just awful. I think the other films in this franchise have set expectations that probably cannot be consistently lived up to.

But I give Wan credit. He has helped create three good to great horror franchises and he has clearly a boatload of ideas. Can't wait to see the Crooked Man and Insidious 5 if it gets greenlit.

5/10

Those were basically my thoughts after watching it today. I haven't read the script (yet), but I hear it's much better?

I've yet to see The Nun but I agree with this. For me The Conjuring is his high point so far, with the sequel almost up there with it. I really like Dead Silence too but not many others seem to :csad:

Yep, those eyes are gonna haunt me in my nightmares tonight.

All the good stuff was in the trailer. I did the enjoy the visual in the finale.

Wan directing gives me some hope but the first one was pretty bland.
