The Nun - New Line's Next Conjuring Spinoff

That poster Bloody Disgusting posted must be fanmade because if it wasn't Hardy would be retweeting them and not this trash: :D

Going to wait a few weeks to see this. Want the theater to myself.

IMO that's the worst way to see a horror film like this. Packed theater. Lots of screams. I saw The Conjuring on opening night and the audience enhanced the experience quite a bit.

I get that most theater audiences are morons who usually ruin an experience, but a packed theater is preferable for a horror and a comedy for me.

I saw The Witch with only one other person in the room. I thought it was a great way to watch it given the atmosphere of the movie.

Well you'll think you're alone, until half-way through you'll notice what appears to be a nun sitting 7 - 8 rows in front of you. And then you'll realise that you never saw her come in...

I gotta stop coming in this thread, because the images are scaring me enough as it is. Not sure if I'll be able to handle the movie! :o

Well some people prefer watching horror movies with a huge audience, while others don't. Also really depends on the movie sometimes, like The Witch just mentioned above. That was a very intense and serious horror film with no intentional humor. If I'd watched that movie in a packed theater, it might have ruined the experience for me, especially since all of the dialog was in "olde English" and more difficult to understand. I still haven't gotten around to re-watching that with subtitles, which I'd like to do one day.

Based on the trailers so far and the fact The Nun is set in the Conjuring-verse, I'd imagine it to be roughly similar in tone to The Witch (very serious, no humor). So I'm planning on seeing it with the smallest crowd possible myself.

The last horror movie I saw with a semi-decent crowd was M Night's The Village. I still remember that scene towards the end when BDH's character turned around and the "monster" started running towards her, mostly because a girl in the audience screamed like bloody murder! :p

They should do marketing for this like that. Have her go into screenings now lol :D

I'm rewatching The Conjuring 2 rn and other than cackling about Ed just waking up from a nightmare and thinking it's a good idea to PAINT THIS THING there is this moment after the painting scene where Valak smiles at Lorraine and my God I almost **** myself here :funny:

I've only seen the first Conjuring film and none of the sequel or Annabelle films, do I need too cram them in before the Nun ? I know this one is a prequel so it probably doesn't matter, but just checking gang ?

There's no doubting Wan has an 'eye' for the creepy!

and sweet too, the lovely moments between Ed and Lorraine in both films are so beautiful. I can't think of another horror film that's essentially a romance too

It's scarier than Conjuring....and oddly, more romantic :D But it has a bit too much stuffed into the story

I had to gif this moment from The Conjuring 2

Bonnie Aarons who plays the Nun also plays the Bum behind Winkie's in Mulholland Drive so this moment practically plays like a homage
