The Nun - New Line's Next Conjuring Spinoff

Absolutely fantastic trailer. Felt like a hammer film on steroids

Showed my wife the trailer she screamed at the moment. Was brilliant

The Conjuring series may have started the best horror "cinematic universe."

I can't wait! with Annabelle and now The Nun, we need more fresh new horror icons and these two could be it for the mainstream outside of new horror icons/new horror franchises like Wolfcop, Tucker and Dale etc.

It's better then regurgating dead icons/franchises like Chucky, Freddy, Leatherface, Michael Myers, Jason, Pinhead, Jigsaw and ghostface.

Their only mishap so far has been the first Annabelle movie.

Sad how this shared universe is doing better than the DCEU.

I'm glad we have a successful horror cinematic universe, where Universal failed to make one TWICE.

It's because this kinda happened organically. Also there is way more talent behind the camera here and Wan is brilliant at planning stuff.

And thanks to him we are getting all those new cinematic monsters which is very cool

I'm curious if they are doing the Crooked Man movie. Also I cannot wait for the Conjuring 3!

Yeah, Conjuring 3 I'm anxiously awaiting. Have they announced which case they're doing?

I love how all of these are *loosely* based on real events. Except The Nun? Is that *loosely* based on something as well?

I agree that was a mishap, although I wasn't hugely keen on Annabelle: Creation either. It was a step up from Annabelle but I didn't think it was nearly as good as some did. Certainly nowhere near the level of The Conjuring or The Conjuring 2.

Just finished reading the script. Very cool, very atmospheric. Likable protagonists. The story is actually more of 'hunted house' than I expected. I think they added a bunch of stuff while filming because I read about some things in Bloody Disgusting set report that weren't in the script.

Also there is a very cool 'woah!' unexpected
tie-in to another movie in Conjuring-verse there

Can you pm me the script or tell me where I can get it?

The cases in the first two conjuring movies were loosely based on real events. But there were no anecdotes of people being terrorized by a president of hell in the form of a demonic nun. So The Nun will be probably be the first of these movies that won't say it was inspired by true events.

I've been fascinated by the Enfield Poltergeist case since it happened (I recommend Guy Playfair's book This House is Haunted, btw) but there was definitely no mention of a nun :funny:

The film will have a card that says 'the following takes place in 1952'. The whole Valak thing was taken from Key of Solomon and the form of the demon as a winged boy is gonna be in this one. It takes the form of the Nun because of something that is gonna be explained in the film and it maintains that form in later years to taunt Lorraine Warren

i hope this has a Panel during WB's Hall H Presentation
