One word..Obama.

Everyone who supported him are vindicated,it was all worth it. Now everyone has to set their eyes on beating McCain, which can happen. It was pretty much his for weeks,or even months. Nothing Clinton could do,could stop him. There is no doubt that the die hard supporters will love to see the states who voted for Clinton,to see their expressions now. But,even with all this..I think the real fight hasn't even begun yet.

Gotta agree with you there. Now that it's virtually assured that Clinton will not get the nomination, everyone is pretty much going to ignore her even if she doesn't drop out.

And judging from McCain's speech the real fight between him and Obama is going to be very exciting. I am actually looking forward to an Obama speech now to hear what he says.

Um, I'd hold off a bit on that whole "vindicated" thing. There's still the pesky little matter of the general election.

A general election that isn't going to be as easy as it should have been.

It's an Obama-nation, we just live in it. Recognize, fool.

Well, when people start questioning your character, integrity and associations with seedy individuals, that hardly makes for an "easy" election.

Any Dem that votes for McCain because they were for Hillary is now a traitor to the cause and will be dealt with accordingly.

True, but considering that the GOP brand is at an all time low in terms of popularity, 2008 should have been a guaranteed victory for the Democrats.

But instead the Republicans played it smart by nominating someone who has a reputation of going outside the party lines and has a good reputation in general and the Democrats played it dumb by having their nomination finally decided until the last two contests. Now it's going to be a very close edge with an advantage towards McCain right now.

Are Obama's chances better or worse with Clinton as his running mate? Or is it too little, too late, at this point?

Yeah, people are saying race doesn't matter, race doesn't matter but as soon as he screws up in office, they'll be like, "that damn negro...I knew he couldn't hack it." That's how we act. We're hypocritical to our cores. That's what my old man just told me over the phone. Haha. Now, even if you think that's extreme, there is some truth to it..dude could be the first black president...that's some pressure for a *****.

Democrats aren't exactly winning any popularity contests either. Just look at Congress's approval ratings.

People are fed up with both parties, and for good reason. The majority of our Congressmen are more concerned with special interests than with constituent interests.

God dammit, for once I was excited to hear an Obama speech but he's saying the exact same thing AGAIN :cmad:

Probably because she said a whole lot of nothing, he felt like he couldn't come out an claim victory and party down.

But telling us how he started his campaign on the steps of Springfield, Illinois is becoming the "My friends" of Barack Obama.

I'm getting bored of Obama's speech too. I've now come to realise why people thinks he so charasmatic even though he says the same thing over and over again. He just has an awesome voice.

And I'm getting bored again. Damn Barack, say something different for once :cmad:

Congrats to Barack for clinching the nomination.

LMFAO! OMG!

Newsflash: New York Attacked by Martians!

Debunked by who? I'm not going to do your homework for you, but the Internet contains a lot of information. If you want to see the Saddam-al-Qaeda ties, I invite you to look them up. They are deep.

You're using OLD "evidence" that has been debunked by the Pentagon! There is NO link and to say so truly shows how little you know of the region and how easily manipulated you are to propaganda.

Since you're a right-winger...from FoxNews.

Fox"News" said:
the report found no "direct operational link" between Saddam's government in Iraq and bin Laden's Al Qaeda terror ring before the U.S. invasion, an official told McClatchy.

Exhaustive review finds no link between Saddam and al Qaida

So, if the Pentagon, the Defense Dept., says there is NO link, which most of us suspected before this bloody atrocious war, who the hell are you to claim that the link was there?

I mean seriously, you linked a news report from 2003, as evidence to support your ludicrous claim, when the Bush administration was beating the drums of war non-stop. Please don't tell me you're that pathetic.

Lets see if he'll continue to make history. If this speech is an indicator he will.

Obama gave an excellent speech. He kept all the bells and whistles of an Obama speech (I think there should be a drinking game for how many times he says the word change in a speech), but tonight was different. There was an air of victory and he firmly became the face of the Democratic Party at least for the rest of 2008. He hit it out of the park in beginning his general election campaign by taking McCain's (poor) swipes at him earlier this evening and brushing them off like dirt. His response to McCain was pointed and affective.

I'm not saying that Obama is the better candidate or will win in November, but tonight he delivered a powerful speech that def. outshined McCain and began the (very slow) closing of the chapter on Hillary Clinton's campaign. Her speech was nostalgic for her supporters and a veiled threat that "If you want their votes give me something I want or I'm not going away until August and even then giving you jack." I hope she isn't his VP as it hurts his campaign's image and most likely would be a nusiance in a White House that doesn't belong to her. But time will tell what she has to get out of this to fall in line.

Anyway, a very monumental night in American history in the very least. To sit back and realize that a black man was just nominated as the party's candidate for president. It was very powerful. And on my personal opinion I hope he delivers once he is in the White HOuse what he promises, but I'm not buying this blindfolded.

I hope he doesn't give her the VP slot. I don't think he needs her for the few holdouts as long as he makes it clear he'll take care of their issues too.
