Excel, for once we are in total agreement (and for the record, I love the XL thing). Obama is playing the victim card, if not directly, than through surrogates...and frankly, I can't figure out why. Its a ridiculous strategy but I doubt it will be effective. The African American base is already rallied behind him, and at this point I am 99.9% sure they won't go away no matter what he does. Therefore, playing the "racist card" can only have one desired effect that I can see. He wants to stir up the whole "white guilt" angle to get voters.
Frankly, I think the whole white guilt thing is a load of ****. What do I have to be guilty about? During the time of slavery, my ancestors were living in poverty in the boot. During the time of Jim Crowe laws, my great grandfather was living in poverty, working in steel mills. During the civil rights movement, my grandfather and father...you guessed it, living in poverty, working in the steel mills. I never did anything to oppress black people, my ancestors never did anything to oppress black people. I have nothing to feel guilty about. Most white Americans do not. The notion that we should be apologetic and hand this campaign to Barack Obama because a few jackasses use the word uppity with a racist over tone is ridiculous and frankly not a road the Senator should be going down.
