anywau surprised this wasnt bumped up. this issue was pretty good. but to be honest i expected alot more fromthis 52 series. like real classic story telling, i was really let down. so far the series just reads as any other series. but overall still good issue. it seems that
luthor infected steel, withsomething that activated his metagene or gave one him, and is somehow controlling the effects thats happening to steel. after his daughter miscontrues this as a uncle john got himself powers, yadda, well so should i, and at the end of the issue lex luthor begins to giver her, her own powers. the whole thing was planned. heh/
She isn't John's daughter. What part of "Uncle" John is hard to understand?

Even though Booster Gold might be a dick, IMO Skeets is freakin A

Apparantly for the sketchbook on the 52 website this panel in issue 6 the mysterious guy was labled as Egg Fu (It's now been changed to "Gotcha").

If you don't know him;

Egg Fu is a giant Communist egg. He was created by Chinese sleeper agents for Darkseid. He was secretly transporting people to Apokolips. In his first public appearance, he attempted to kill Wonder Woman but was foiled. He later tried to reprogram the Metal Men to say 'Down With America' at a Pro-American Rally, but was stopped. It was recently revealed that Jonni D.C., Continuity Cop, fried him, so that he would not ruin her clean continuity.
[Note: This text refers to the pre-Crisis version of this character.]

I think Morrisson may have had an hand in this :D

Egg Fu and Kim Jong Il can, as they would say "Rick my barrs"

One is a bad Asian stereotype and the other is a stupid looking comic book character.

But if anyone can make Egg Fu cool it would be Grant Morrison.

There's no hope for Kim Jong though, except maybe a bullet to the head.

This issue wasnt oo bad. I would have liked more Black Adam and Question in this issue though. I would like this book to pick up a little more in the following weeks however

I'm not really into Black Adam but I'm in agreement about The Question. He's probably the most mysterious thing about 52, in my opinion. I'm not really familiar with most of the characters in 52, but it's definitely one of the most captivating reads in all of comics right now.

And it god damn well better be with the writing talent that they've got on this thing.

If Marvel was pulling the same stunt, I have to admit, they'd fail miserably. :o

Not necessarily. If they got Brubaker, David, Busiek, and Giffen on it, I think they could turn out similar results in the writing department. Art's a whole other can of worms, though. I can't think of too many Marvel artists who are unflinchingly dependable, month in and month out. Not at the level of Bennett, anyway.

It's not really the writing staff or the art staff at Marvel that I have doubts in. It's the Marvel editorial department that I have little faith in, heh. They'd screw it up in the worst way, and everybody knows it.

Yeah, probably. Too bad. Say what you will about the '90s, but at least Marvel's bullpen worked like a well-oiled machine at the time, even if they were using that coordination to make stupid decisions.

And the super duper see through foil embossed covers of doom.

Will they be putting all the 52 books out in one book?
When do you think that will be?

Middle of Next year maybe. And I doubt they could get it out in one book.

Holy crap, mark this date. You and I fully agree on something. The editors are the weakest at Marvel. Well, their ability to actually EDIT anything, that is.

thanks, I just don't want to go out and buy every comic. I'd rather wait and read it all in one book like I Crisis on Infinite Earth. Where the stories are all collected.

I expect 12 volumes 12 issues each for $20 each. Possibly a different printing for the back up stories.

I hope they include ALL the sketch pages they are posting, the loose sketches used as thumbnails.
They are AWESOME.

just read the 9th week. it seems the writers are really going out of thier way for the audience to dislike everyone in 52, making us to probably wish them dead.
natasha ends up with powers far greater then steel's, i mean i think she can give supergirl a run for her money. she completely knocked around steel like he was a rag doll. it also seems luthor has formed his own superhero group and natasha is a member
. which brings me to the the speculation at what happened during the up,up, and away arc. we know lex is downsized to nothing but a washed up villain and everything he had is gone. later issues of 52 are going to be great to know lex's plans are set to backfire on him.

rating 7/10

Haven't read Week 9 yet but all I know is that The Question is in this issue and that's enough for me to know that's it's kick ass.
