I've never seen a film in IMAX, lol.
I've seen Inception in IMAX, but I guess screens vary in size at different IMAXs. I wasn't impressed. I'm gonna watch Captain America in XD (where I live the XD screen seems bigger than the IMAX screen).

Just for fun, I'll list similarities and differences between Raimi's trilogy and Webb's film storywise :)

Similar:
1. Peter Parker is a nerd and outcast
2. The film starts with him at school
3. Peter gets bitten by a radioactive spider by an accident
4. Peter becomes a superhero after the death of Uncle Ben
5. Spider-man can crawl walls and use spider's sense
6. The villain is related to Oscorp
7. Peter and the character that yet to become the main villain have connection prior to their transformations

Differences:
1. Raimi's spends only one act till Peter becomes a professional superhero, while Webb's will explore his development in the span of the entire film
2. Raimi's has Peter graduating from high school and landing a job right after the first act, while Webb's keeps Peter at school for the entire film
3. In Raimi's Peter has no interest in discovering the truth about his parents (they were mentioned only once actually), while Webb's gets in details in order to explain why Peter is who he is and thus includes the mystery of his parents' fate in the film
4. Raimi's Spider-man has a costume more faithful to comics, yet being too ideal. Webb's Spider-man has a costume more grounded and realistic (it's more possible for a ttenager to come up with it than in Raimi's)
5. In Raimi's MJ plays the role of love interest, combining characteristics of MJ, Gwen and Liz from comics at once. In Webb's it's Gwen, and a pretty faithful adaptation
6. Raimi's starts the story of Osborns, figuring as important characters, from the beginning. In Webb's they are replaced by the Stacy clan
7. Raimi's never really gave the space for Connors to shine. Webb's will develop him to the point of transformation in the Lizard
8. Raimi's has Spider-man being established pretty fast, while Webb's is going with slower, yet more detailed and explained route of who Peter was, who Peter is and who is soon to become
9. Raimi's dialogues, tone and characterization is similar to comics, while Webb's seems like being more down to our reality and natural
10. Raimi's is more focused on Peter's relationships with other characters, whereas Webb's is all about Peter and his inner self against the outside surrounding
11. Raimi's has organics, Webb's - web-shooters
12. Raimi's spends more time in his films, showing how Peter ends as Spider-man. Webb's will concentrate on how he begins as Spider-man
13. Raimi's Parker is almost flawless, too generous and idealist, almost never makes mistakes. Webb's is more real and tangible, the one who would surely make a few mistakes before understanding how to do right. He acts like typical teenagers of these days.
14. While Raimi's Peter is lead to the spider's bite by an accident, Webb's Peter takes himself to Oscaorp, motivated by his own intentions to discover something. To note again, the bite itself still remains accidential in both
15. In Raimi's the relationship between Ben and Peter has a greater value prior to Ben's death, while, as I believe, in Webb's Peter realizes Ben's significance only after the death

15 against 7.

One imprtant thing to note is that the major thing that distinguishes Webb's from Raimi's is Peter Parker himself. His personality, motives, arc and choices he makes. We all know the story of how he becomes Spider-man, but this doesn't come from Raimi's films. It comes from Amazing Fantasy #15. Moreover, what's critical here is how the path for Peter to superhero lies in this one. Surely, this time we have different characters, different tone and even different actions and reasons for Peter, which already sets a new vision for the film.

BTW, I hope I haven't missed anything. But, if you have any more ideas, please, speak out.

P.S. I'd like to apologize in case I have some errors in my post. I was typing very fast and English isn't my first language

i see all the big budget movie that are in IMAX in IMAX....the theater I go to is the biggest one in Florida...TF3 was freakin awesome

What theater is it? I've been to the channelside theater in tampa, saw the first sider-man there.

So the movie will be shot with the new RED Epic camera's, and the resolution of that camera is 5k! :wow:

Epic cameras? nice, I can't remember what other movie is using the RED Epic cameras. Although I am starting to see the difference between digital and film cameras. It's getting to a point where its easy to tell the difference.

Okay, sorry I'm not sure if IMAX camera's have 4k resolution. I think it' 5.6k. Somebody knows?
But anyway, The Social Network was shot with the RED One wich has 4k. And that resolution was wonderfull.

And like I said in my previous post, basically it would take seven or eight of the newest 1080p FULL HD TVs to show an entire 5K image, and even then it wouldn’t be the whole thing because Red shoots to a special raw format with more color depth than your TV can display.
:awesome:

I'll wait til I see the movie before I comment

HAHA wtf. All of that from a teaser that has like 3 lines of dialogue???

It really isn't "soon".

10 years have passed from the first movie.

and 4 from the last.

I totally disagree with the "Too soon" argument against this movie. How much time is enough time for those who have an issue? It will be 5 years since the last movie by the time the movie hits theaters next July, and as you said, 10 years since Raimi's first film.

Maybe it's too soon for some, but not for me. 5 years is enough time to pass for a fresh take on my favorite webslinger!

5 years is a little too soon for a complete reboot. It's going to be frustrating to possibly like this new trilogy to only have it rebooted again in 15 years.

Just watched the HD version full screen... MAN the POV will be great in 3D theater screen !!!:awesome::wow:

Does anyone have a 1080 download link btw ??

It's going to happen though.

15 years is a LONG time.

Spider-Man, like Batman, is too much of a cashcow to ignore.

Very good post, but how were you able to get all that from a teasseR? Some of that i think we can assume is correct but honeslty there is still alot about this movie we don't know.

I hope what your saying is true, because it makes for a interesting film.

But the fact that this is an origin film is still ****ing stupid as ****. Seriously remove the origin aspect and i am sold, but the origing aspect i feel is a bit odd

Billy, I think the one thing you're not right about is Pete being at Oscorp on his own volition. I might be wrong but in the trailer, there are other kids there in the lab that Gwen and Doc Connors are in and it looks like Pete wandered away from them. Why he wandered away is the true issue

Say if you were 3 years old when the first movie came out.

10 years on... you're 13.

It is a whole generation.

Haha, I was 12 and, by the time of the release of TAS (which is two days before by birthday), I will be 22.

What I can say is that today the younger audience of my generation are more open-minded to changes, remakes and reboots. We care less about continuity than the direction and approach. Seeing things differently is what can bring us to seats in theatres.

720p is the highest res of this trailer that we've gotten, I think.
