Possibly the best movie trailer I've ever seen.

I 100% mean that, not kidding in the slightest.
Congrats Sony, you did the impossible: get me just as excited for something else as I am the Avengers.
Seriously, for a few months now I kind of had this film on the backburner of my mind and didn't put much thought to it simply because the Avengers was so omni-present and looming.
This trailer blew my balls off and reminded me why I ****ing love Spider-man so much and why Peter Parker is my favorite fictional character of all time.
Thank you, Sony, Marc Webb, Andrew Garfield, and co. I can't say that enough.

Uhhh.... The skeptics, and those who's done nothing else but ***** and trash this movie since the release of the teaser!? They sure as hell, more then likely wasn't expecting a COOL trailer! Sony an co. did the best thing ever with this trailer, and gave all skeptics and haters the biggest FUUUCK-YOU-FINGER they could! Those skeptics aren't saying a damn peeb now!

This trailer is sooo orgasmic! Avengers - Go the **** home! Cause where Avengers will be one giant CG-fest, this movie will deliver way beyond that! It's obvious.

While I generally agree with you, Raimi didn't do a terrible job. The missteps he took were glaringly obvious but he doesn't get enough credit anymore for all he got right.
Calling his movies mediocre I also find a stretch. They are some of the most well-recieved superhero blockbusters of all time, both financially and critically. You could argue they were mediocre representations of the character, to which I would probably agree with you, but calling his movies 'crap' is taking it a little far.

the "crap" I was mainly referring to was in relation to some of Raimi's excuses for omitting certain things that he said wasn't possible when they were. Other movies had done it prior to Raimi's spider-man flicks and Marc Webb is doing it now. The fact is, no one is perfect and Raimi's imperfections as a film maker were made clear through his poor creative choices.
But like I said before, he did do some good things and his movies made a tonne load of money but I personally was unimpressed for the most part. His films just felt empty to me and these were concerns I had issue with since I originally joined here back in 2002. It's also worth noting that I THINK Webb and his creative team behind TAS are far more invested than Raimi and co and you can see it. The passion, the love and the genuine understanding of the characters and the mythology are all conveyed wonderfully in this new 2 and a half minute trailer.

We don't need to talk about "Raimi sucked"-topics! Keep enjoying the new trailer instead! Gosh I thought the greatness of the new trailer would keep you guys focused on that instead of going back to what Raimi did wrong etc.

The Lizard will be part CG. Part man-suit. It won't be CG aaaall over the place, like it WILL be in Avengers. Besides, the Lizard definitely looks believable in this movie!

Am I gonna see Avengers? Absolutely! Do I think it'll hold a candle to Spidey? No way! Avengers is, ultimately, about teaming up all the superheroes we've seen in different movies and having them go nuts, all in one movie! Just like Stallone is gathering all the action-veterans for his Expendable movies, so they can have their fun, together. It's just something you GOTTA see!... Spiderman will be a movie of story, drama, characterization, feelings & heart. An emotional roller-coaster if you will... Avengers will be a fun, cool, CG-filled action flick, at its best.

I like how you hear one quip in a 2 1/2 minute trailer and then that somehow makes Raimi's movies crap Then again you have been spewing that crap on here for a while now so it's not surprising.

Ok. Read this part of your post and tell me if it makes sense to you. You say after hearing a quip i heard in a 2 1/2 minute trailer I now think Raimi's movies are crap and then you say I've been saying it for a while. Well, which is it Chase, make up your mind because I need for you to at least know what you're talking about before I engage you any further.

I wouldn't be shocked if we hear just a couple of more quips from Spider-Man than any of the previous movies. Spider-Man is a quipster but it's not like Raimi made him Batman-esque and totally ruined the character.

You remind me of Wiley Kyote, continuously making the same mistake over and over and over again. Your failure is still thinking that it's just about the quips. It is not. Raimi's spider-man lacked in the quipping department, sure but he was also lacking in overall character, notably, CHARISMA. Maguire had no charisma to his personality and was just boring to watch.

He joked...just not during the major battle in each act.

In 3 films, he made no more than 5 quips and the majority of them were poorly delivered and just fell flat. The only line he said that I felt he genuinely delivered was that little verbal exchange he had with sandman about being the sherrif.

I would bet you don't hear a quip every 10 seconds during his battles with the Lizard in this movie.

I'm not expecting to and I dont think anyone else is either but again, you seem to be laboring under the illusion that it's solely all about the quips when it is not.

Weren't you also angry about Spider-Man being unmakes by the public in Raimi's movies? No peep about that now?

No peep because I havn't seen the movie yet, genius. Also, the cops unmasking spider-man in the trailer clearly indicates that no one saw his face, as he kept his head down the entire time and took them out with efficient speed, something that was again lacking in Raimi's movies. Furthermore, spider-man in this movie so far hasn't had his face blatantly exposed to dozens of people (I'm looking at you spider-man 2) so Chase, go back and try again.

After watching this thing a million times now it seems like, there is nothing that I don't like about it. Andrew is perfect as Peter and Spider-Man. I really love Denis Leary as Cpt. Stacey, their little argument at the dinner table is going to make for a great awkward scene. The Lizard looks great, he's huge and quite the threat. I love how the webshooters glow red everytime he uses them, I think thats just a fun little addition. What I love most is how Spider-Man moves. He's so fast and so acrobatic when he swings and fights. I love how they're filming the web swinging, it makes us as the audience feel like we're there with him as he flies through the city.

Yeah Im sure The Avengers will have no drama or especially characterization with Joss Whedon at the helm. Delivering great characters is one of his strong suits. I bet the film has amazingly drawn characters with loads of distinct personality just like in the books, with a good snappy dramatic script to boot. Not to hate on Marc Webb, the mans a talent and TASM will be ****ing awesome Im sure. But that doesn't mean that a movie whose scope far out out weighs this ones and that is supported by a group of already well developed and proven film properties being thrown into the grinder together, is suddenly going to be fun mindless action drivel. The avengers is doing something no film has ever done before, and its ambitions, in my eyes anyways, are greater than any TASM seems to have. O and Im sorry the film has CGI, its kinda necessary when ur depicting alien invasions and giant green irradiated men.
