it's a bit of an overall conflict in these types of movies. the daylight kind of shows the flaws in all superhero costumes.

Nolan got around it by simply ensuring Batman conveniantly operated at night only. In TDK all the daytime action was limited to Bruce Wayne.

But Spider-Man is portrayed in the comics in action during both day and night. So, it will be interesting how the contrasts are shown in these movies.

I personally thought the Raimi Costume worked regardless of lighting.

Actually, particularly in TDK, Nolan went out of his way to have Batman in a lot more well lit scenarios. In intentional contrast to the "Dark" Knight.'Technically not in the "day," but quite a few more well lit scenes.

So I'm guessing Spider-Man carries a spray paint to leave his "mark"? lol

Just saw the trailer and it looked great. My hype for this movie just skyrocketed.

I hope that just like Oscorp is a poart of this movie, they include Daily Bugle building and maybe a brief shot editor JJJameson.

Ideally towards the end of this movie we should see Peter getting the job at Daily Bugle as a freelancer photographer.

Webb mentioned the bugle would have a presence in the movie but won't be actually seen until the sequels. And Peter is a shutterbug

there is a bit where the lizard's tail wraps around spidey's neck. why isn't his spider sense going off?

Well noticed, I think they have probably just left out the spider-sense, as the Raimi films eventually did, it's a trait that would just spoil a lot of tense movie moments, like that lizard tail scene, which looked like a great moment.

Another thing about the characterisation that bugged me a bit...when Pete slams that student up against the locker, that was a pretty angry and violent Pete, not like the nerdy student who gets his powers in AF15. I mean, look at how Pete reacted when Flash tried to punch him in the 1st movie, putting his fists up awkwardly because he does not know what he is doing, that was more along the lines of the quiet kid who has never been in a fight before, but now has superpowers.
So, I guess what they are doing here, with the sullen plotline about him wondering about his parents, is portraying him as some kind of angry young man, that doesn't feel like Spider-man to me. edit: sure, he might not be like that all the time in the film, but it looks to be a trait that is definitely there from that scene. Hell, the only time we saw Pete do something like that in the previous movies, he was under the influence of the symbiote.
I don't know if they played it like that in the Ultimate comics though, and that is how they are playing it here.

Where are all the screen caps?

Can't believe we'll getting getting another final battle (tower drop) with a maskless Spider-man...

Or Spidey could just be baiting his trap and letting the Lizard get close, similar to the webbing in the sewer.

In the sizzle reel, Flash hammers Pete, so what you saw in the trailer isn't entirely indicative of what you'll see on screen. In fact, Flash beats Pete down because Pete tries to stand up for this freshman Flash is torturing

Didn't know they were in his webshooters, interesting

theShaper: That's what came in mind when I was watching the trailer. But who knows, maybe the Lizard yanked it off. As long he's not deliberately taking his mask off just for the sake of getting some face time, I don't see a problem. :/

Ok, the way it played in the trailer, it looked like all that happened before was that some other students had thrown a basketball at him, and were laughing. So his reaction seemed way out of proportion.

Maybe, but that looked way too close for him to be sitting there like bait, I think they have probably just left the spider-sense out again, it is by far the most problematic power to display onscreen, it could ruin what would normally be a lot of tense moments.

Thebumwhowalks: I almost forgot about the spidey-sense. I hope they didn't neglect that.:csad:

Yeah that's just the way they cut it but what happens is,
Flash is torturing this poor kid. Pete, with camera in hand, walks up to the scene and tells flash to let him go and flash tells pete to take the picture, pete refuses and insists flash put the kid down, flash still refuses and then beats pete down. Pete, on the ground and in pain responds "I'm still not taking the picture." He goes home, ben and may asks him what happened cause his face is bruised and he says nothing, he had a skateboarding accident..then later on, flash keeps pushing Peter and he eventually has the reaction they showed in the trailer

:spidey:The newest trailer for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man was fantastic and those few glimpses we got of The Lizard were spectacular.
