After their physical appearance in San Diego, Spidey616 wondered, "One lingering plot thread readers have been wondering about for awhile now is the current location of the Infinity Gems. Any of them playing a role in future stories in the coming months?"
Brevoort: You said the magic word, Spidey616! So, just for you, here's a sneak peek at next month's solicitation for "Avengers" #8:
AVENGERS #8
The return of the Illuminati! Marvel's super-secret braintrust has come back together again because someone is trying to put the Infinity Gauntlet back together. Who is it and will the Avengers be able to stop them in time? And what does any of this have to do with the Red Hulk? Plus, is there a little romance brewing? Another blistering blockbuster chapter in Marvel's Premier super hero team by Bendis and Romita Jr. Plus another illustrated chapter of the Oral History of the Avengers

Bendis will be touching upon Cosmic Marvel. :p

This books sucks so hard. We're at part 3 of a 5 arc Kang saga and we've only seen Kang once.

So what's the romance that's brewing? Spider-Man and Spider-Woman? It's been hinted at before....

I'd rather they go back to the Spider-Man/Ms Marvel thing that really never happened.

Well, you know it can't be Spider-Man and MJ. :csad:

Oh, and is Spider-Man still going to be on the main book after issue 6?

I'd rather they would just friggin pick one and get everyone on board instead of ignoring what goes on in the other titles.

I would also like to win the lotto and bang Jennifer Aniston. I doubt all 3 are gonna happen anytime soon.....probably got a better shot with Aniston.

Heck, isn't Spidey joining FF? Maybe he could make time with Sue too! Has Reed been talking to Mephisto lately?

He might go exclusive to NNA after Avengers #6......or at least that's the rumor. IDK...wasn't he on the Avengers #7 cover with Rulk that came out during Comic-con?

The whole Spidey/FF thing w/the FF SM costume could just be a 1 arc thing....

I think he wasn't, which is why a thought the rumor had weight.

Eventhough Spidey is being passed around marvel like a cheerleader in an NBA lockeroom, i actually think him being on the FF4 is a great idea and makes sense. I say get him off avengers and keep him on the FF for a while.

I suppose the FF could use the migrating fanboys. They should kill Johnny off this time. He could use a break.

The Fantastic Four are probably the only super-team that to me it makes sense for Spider-Man to join. He's been intertwined with the Four since AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1. Spidey was the first hero other than the Four that Dr. Doom battled, at least in real time. He and Johnny have been rivals and allies for decades. Nearly every time Spider-Man has some sort of crisis, at least in the 80's and 90's, he'd always have the Four on speed dial (even if most of the time, they were busy off in Dimension H or something). While it was obligatory that Spidey join the Avengers when he did, being an official member of the Four actually has a myriad of prior material to support it. Curious to see how it goes.

The thing is, i think marvel's gonna in be for a disappointment in terms of sales. I think they've been trying desperately to replicate the same magic that new avengers had when spidey and wolverine joined that team. Unfortunately i think that was a gimmick that wont work twice, people will be intrigued by spidey being on the team but i dont think the intrigue will last. Then again, who knows, maybe Hickman will work some serious magic, i would love for him to prove me wrong.

It's probably the best move the Four have, besides taking a rest for a few years and hoping they build the same anticipation that Thor did.

Bendis will be touching upon Cosmic Marvel. :p
Damn, there goes my last escape from him. :csad:

Although, Infinity Gauntlet? Hmmm...

Relax. Based on that quote, it doesn't sound like it's anything important from the cosmic arena. It's just the Infinity Gems, which Bendis has used before and which I personally haven't really missed from the actual cosmic stuff much. DnA still seem to have the reins on the important stuff. :)

Haha, the thought of anyone telling Thor to run and hide strikes me as hilarious.

I'm kinda shocked Bendis acknowledged Spider-Man had met Killraven before.

Ironic, given that this is one instance he could've easily gotten away with not referencing past continuity. There've been a ton of alternate universe Killravens over the years.

I was pleased by the reference myself. Nice callback to Marvel Team-Up of the 70's!

I'm surprised about his use of Spider-Man in general. He's actually been useful the last 3 issues, and he was even using his intellect, albeit in the background. Which is too bad, because I'm dropping this now that Thunderbolt frackin' Ross is joining the team. This isn't nearly good enough to stick around for that.
