Civil War The Official Black Panther Thread! - Part 1

I'm curious about [BLACKOUT]what was going on with that ring and Bucky's Arm. There's a brief moment where it looks like the Arm repels T'Chaka's ring. Some have jumped to the conclusion that Bucky's arm is made of Vibranium, but we know that's not the case since Iron Man blew his arm off at the end of the film. It had to be something specific about the ring because T'Challa's vibranium claws and suit clearly weren't being repelled by Bucky's arm.[/BLACKOUT]
I admit I could be wrong but [blackout]I *think* what was happening didn't have anything to do with the ring, I think it's just that T'Challa was trying to use his right arm to bring down Bucky's (metal) left (while T'Challa's left hand kept hold of Bucky's left wrist), and I think the shock to T'Challa came that - within his beserker/assassin state - Bucky was matching/resisting his strength. Where as their previous encounter on the rooftop, since Bucky was just trying to get away/was trying to avoid killing anyone, he may have been holding back (slightly) in the rooftop fight with BP)[/blackout]

Does that make sense? Like I said, I could be wrong. Need to see it a few more times to check (oh the torture :oldrazz:)

That makes perfect sense, Silvermoon and that's precisely how I perceived what was going on.

The ****ing suit is probably the most showcasing of his intellect. He was stricken with grief for most of the flick. The stinger probably shows his science side.

Woah. Alright..Just askin. Thanks.

As a black man this movie made me proud. We have Black Panther War Machine and The Falcon. Just a great time to be alive.

Hopefully, black women will get some shine with BB, spiderman and thor movies

I loved the shot of him sliding down the side of the building using his claws.

I hope we get a full on fight scene with her and Widow, seeing as how Widow is now on the run too.

Easily the best newly introduced hero in any MCU Movie. Honestly liked him even more than Spidey, because his inclusion felt much more natural.

IA and was surprised by this bc I wondered why the heck would he be involved in some conflict between Tony and Cap. It worked though

Can anyone explain why his ring had a weird reaction when he got close to Winter Soldier's arm?

It didn't. Scroll to the top of the page to get your answer explained.

No it was more than that...

[BLACKOUT]I've seen the move 4 times and when you look closely at that scene you see some sort of weird ripple effect between the ring and Bucky's arm and there's a rippling sound effect to go along with it. When I first saw it I thought it was what you guys were saying earlier, but there is some sort of reaction between that ring and Bucky's arm.[/BLACKOUT]

Thanks. I didn't think Bucky's arm was made of vibranium.

Is the ring from the comics? I assume it doesn't actually give him powers. It seemed more like a family tradition.

Are you sure? Guess it's another excuse for me to see the film again. Clarity is a must. :woot:

Oh man. How God damn good was Black Panther in this? Never seen Boseman act before, but he totally knocked it out of the park in this. His mannerisms, accent, fighting style, the suit. Everything was just spot on, can't wait to see more of him.

You should check out 42 and get on up. Superb performances from him.

Cap was able to stop a helicopter with his bare hands. BP was able to pull Caps shield down with his bare hands. Nuff said.

Either way Black Panther he made this film all the more enjoyable he basically made it all the more exciting too because with T'Challa you could actually feel his pain but also more or less his grief or need to avenge his father but also not letting that revenge consume him even though it almost did

Agreed. Take BP and his arc out of this movie; despite how awesome the action sequences were, and the story as a whole falls below TWS for me. BP and his arc elevated this to the level of, and maybe a tad higher than, The Winter Soldier.

Exactly just by adding his arc into the film it makes it all the more superior to Winter Soldier as far as sequels go

Agreed, it was good to have someone on one of the teams who wasn't bothered about accords, he just wanted revenge.

I also loved it that while many of the other characters were making quips throughout the battles, he was just totally serious and all business. It was a brilliant part brilliantly acted and performed.

That's T'Challa.

He's not a character that cracks jokes. He has a much more dry sense of humor. He's typically portrayed as all business. The only exceptions are during his down time with his family and loved ones and it's never the type of humor you get from Iron Man, Spider-Man, or Hawkeye.
