Anyway, what's your reaction about Floyd saying Manny will never get a 50-50 purse share fighting him? I think it's BS. Floyd and Manny are about equal in popularity in the US, outside of it, it aint even a question. Manny deserves a 50-50 share. This is just Floyd being a coward again. I really though he wanted the fight, but now that Manny has set aside his ego and has agreed to all of Floyd's demands with the drug testing, Floyd finds another excuse to prevent the fight from happening. If Pac agrees with the purse share, Floyd's just gonna make another excuse. Like the size of the shorts maybe. Pac and the rest of the world should just move on.

No its not really that close, Floyd's made more money if you compare the fights between the same opponents, almost without exception, just like he probably will with Cotto.

On top of that he's putting up much more than a belt on the line, in essence, its his whole marketing angle.

Just as many people tune in to watch him finally lose as they do to watch him win. Casual fans are a fickle bunch, if he loses, he'll most certainly lose his PPV perch as the biggest draw, something pretty significant to his "character" as Money Mayweather. Not saying its right, by the way, but I'm just saying...

Have to disagree with you there. This fight should be 50/50. I'm a Mayweather fan and I think he'd beat the freak out of Manny but they are equal in popularity. Floyd lost my support on that one.

Chisora should be banned! No class. I'm really longing for the next great American Heavyweight champion. When I was a kid, all I cared for was the Heavyweight division, the HW champ was like the king of the sportsworld. Nowadays, not so much.

Rios-Gamboa is gonna be exciting, Donaire-Arce too.

Rios is going to get a nasty ass kicking if he comes in like he did in his last fight.

This is the first time in a long while that I'm more interested in upcoming boxing matches than MMA matches.

There are some pretty good fights on the horizon.

I got this from a boxing forum, and I agree with it:

Mayweather admitted this to Bob Costas in an NBC show interview about why he doesn’t want to fight Pacquiao. “I am in the game to win, not just inside the ring, but outside the ring,” stated Mayweather. “My health is more important than anything.”

Costas then countered with, “Are you implying there is something to fear in Manny Pacquiao?”

Floyd: “I don’t fear no one. If you’re insinuating that I’m a scared fighter, why would you want to watch a scared fighter?”

Earlier in the interview, Mayweather mentioned Muhammad Ali’s health. “With or without Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather is okay. Floyd Mayweather fights for Floyd Mayweather. At the end of the day, Floyd Mayweather has to be happy and comfortable…Look at the Ali situation. Fans pushed him to get into fights at the end of his career that he didn’t want to get in…If Ali could trade it all in for his health, he would.”

(Note: Let me correct Floyd. Ali was not forced by fans to get in the ring with Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Ken Norton, Larry Holmes or Trevor Berbick. Money, pride and a fearless belief in his skills were the motivation for Ali to take those fights.)

Floyd also said: “One shot can end your whole career. Boxing is a very deadly sport.”

Costas said Floyd has to fight Pacquiao, to see who is the best, to give the fans what they want and to pump up the sport with a much-needed big, exciting, Super Bowl event: “I come first. Self preservation. I gotta worry about my family. If the fight don’t happen, so be it.”

There you go: “Self preservation.” So the reasons Mayweather gave us for two years of ducking and dodging Pacquiao – drug tests, fake retirements, Manny has to leave Arum and be his own boss, no 50-50 split, he doesn’t need Manny, it’s all Bob Arum’s fault, etc. – were indeed mere smokescreens, bluffs and lies.

EL OH EL

Self preservation is the reason Mayweather has ducked and dodged guys all the time. Taking on Cotto now? Really? The same Cotto that people were saying should retire if he lost to Margarito just a few months ago.

I'm afraid this fight will never happen, or if it does, it will be when nobody cares.

That was one hell of a fight. The WBO suspended Lopez for a year because of his remarks.

RIP to Julio Gonzalez, was the first one to dethrone Dariusz Michalczewski for the championship, went 12 rounds with Roy Jones Jr and had that war with Julian Letterlough.

A great fight indeed, it's been a while since there was a war like Salido and Lopez displayed!

Not exactly compelling names, but Adamek-Aguilera is an oddly entertaining fight right now, especially that 4th round.

You guys seriously think Manny is on the same level of stardom as Money Mayweather?

LMAO

Mayweather not only makes more money than this asian shrimp but more people know who Mayweather is since he's big in the Entertainment Industry (ex. Best buds with 50Cent, MoneyTeam, His interviews get loads of views on youtube, He talks trash about anybody he wants to talk trash too (Jeremy Lin), and he's constantly getting attention on ESPN whenever he says something "meanl" on his facebook or twitter).

*sigh*Again, I'm a Mayweather fan but man do you make us look bad. It "appears" like Manny is afraid but he's with a body guard. We are not all like that.

The Mayeather's are a bunch of racist pricks.

And this reverse racism is getting F'ing old.

Had someone said "who cares that Tony Dungy winning the Superbowl is no big deal because white coaches have been doing it for a long time", the media and Al Sharpton would be up in arms. But for some reason the Mayweathers can spew racist crap and get away with it.

Pathetic.

He talks trash, but he's a coward.

Sean Sherk/Dana White and Antonio Margarito are two prime examples. He went from a loud mouth to a 'shrimp' when he was confronted.

I don't think he's a coward though. I think it's all an act for his "Money" persona. I think he and Manny should split the fight 50-50 but I also think Manny needs to be drug tested Olympic style. The guy went up like 6 classes of weight and has gained both power and speed which is unheard of. Not saying it's impossible but it's close to it.

I'm all up for it but Arum would never make the fight. If he truly wanted Mayweather-Pacquiao, it would have already materialized. Instead, we're getting lackluster fights.

Although... Manny's stock dropped a bit when he fought JMM a third time and escaped with a gift-wrapped decision.

The only person I constantly see talking about race is you. What's really pathetic is that your a grown man who seems to really believe what comes out of Floyd's mouth. I guess you really thought Ali could literally float like a butterfly too.

Arum's running the risk of Manny being unmotivated and getting caught. Normally I'd give Bradley no chance, but nobody wants to see this, most of all Manny himself. If he isn't up for this fight, you never know...

lol, I still remember when Floyd was talking a lot of trash about the UFC and Sherk went up to his face and punked him. Hilarious

:whatever: Yeah I forgot this is Mayweather's "money" persona. He can come out talk sh** about different races, but it's ok, it's his "money" persona.

Like I said, if there was a boxer who called himself "The Black Assassin" or "African American Assassin" and mocked black people by wearing their attire to the ring, people would be up in be up in arms, if someone said "[insert name] can never win the big one because he's a black coach, people would be up in arms, if someone said "Tiger Woods isn't so special because white people have been dominating this sport for years", people would be up in arms.

Floyd and Roger have both said or done similar things. But since it's all for show, they can get away with it. That's so goddamn stupid.

Agreed 1000%! I have heard people talking about boycotting Manny's fight against Bradley because of not fighting Mayweather and his performance against JMM. The only reason i hear people talking about buying Mayweather's fight is because Cotto is a big name and is 3rd in PPV sales. Arum is really destroying Manny's rep. It's obvious Manny wants the fight but Arun is standing in the way due to his hate of Mayweather.

Well the history of this country is what it is. White people aren't as sensitive to things like that, naturally, because they rule this nation. They're the majority, they have various examples of their ethnicity in different context, so when Charlie Sheen goes berserk, nobody looks at it like he represents the whole race. Unfortunately for alot of whites, Floyd Mayweather represents what they think of blacks as a whole.

Outside of sports & entertainment, a good portion of white people have no association with blacks at all in real life because they don't have to. It's not like you come across alot of prominent blacks in positions of power in everyday life. Chances are your accountant, lawyer, dentist, doctor, neighbors, school teachers, etc., aren't black.

Point being when Floyd says something or another rapper gets in trouble at a club, all of a sudden we're all associated with it, as if all us blacks share the same family and lifestyle or something lol. Floyd has whites, blacks & hispanics on his team, which is more than I can say for most hispanic or white fighters. But Floyd preys on that stigma and became the biggest sterotype possible, and people buy into it, literally, to see the angry "hip hop" money hungry black man lose. It is what it is...

Horrible fight, even by Bernard Hopkins standards (as far as aesthetics go, personally I love the guy) and whoever scored it a draw needed to be drug tested. That being said, Chad was still less than impressive to me, and he's talking about fighting Andre Ward next? Good luck with that...

I don't think it was a draw but closer than what it was scored.

I can see giving Bernard a couple more rounds early, but he lost all the middle rounds.

This fight does nothing for Dawson but make him look bad. He couldn't even dominate this vastly inferior version of Hopkins. It reminded me of Morales v. Garcia from a few weeks back. The vastly superior fighter just wasn't close enough to his prime, but was clearly, clearly the better fighter in a losing effort.

Agreed! He said he wanted Ward, I can see Ward killing this dude in the ring!

Watching the Mayweather/Cotto fight, they are talking about Broner. I was hoping Broner and Nonito Donaire would go at it because those two will dominate their divisions for awhile with no challenges but it doesn't appear that will happen.

Mayweather walked out with Justin Beiber, Thriple H and 50 Cent. What the hell am I watching?
