The Flash Who is the Man in the Iron Mask?

Yep, the something to that effect crossed my mind when they were flirting.

I still think it's John Wesley Shipp in the iron mask. And he's actually Barry Allen from the 90's Flash show. He was trapped there, and took on the alias Jay Garrick (mother's maiden name), since Earth-2 already has a Barry Allen. It's a flawed theory so hopefully Kreisberg can explain it better. But it's makes Jay Garrick not a "baddie", further explores the Multiverse, and gives off the nostalgia factor.

Also worth noting, Barry Allen's brother's name, in the 90s series, was Jay (he was killed in the pilot).

I do hope that Wesley Shipp's 90's Flash shows up after them teasing it in the time stream. But I don't want him to be Jay Garrick. It's too convoluted. If there is a real Jay just let him be Jay and not related to Barry.

I honestly really want Ship to be the one in the mask and the real Jay Garrick. I love that idea and I'm going to be disappointed if it doesn't happen. :funny:

JWS just needs to be a speedster one more time.:D

Too bad this show doesn't have the budget to de-age Shipp like Marvel did with RDJ and Michael Douglas.

Has anyone speculated that the man in the mask is Robbie / Firestorm? Perhaps he didnt die at the end of season 1 and was just transported to Earth 2. Maybe he is the key to turning Kaitlynn against Zoom.

^
What would Zoom want with him though?

Precisely. Which is why it's most likely Henry as Jay. Zoom never stated he was Jay. He said he pretended to be Jay. In order for him to pretend to be Jay he would need to keep the real Jay locked away. I'm betting, just like Flash, no one got a good look at Jay before so nobody could know that a switch was made.

Also, Zoom is exactly the kind of psychopath who'd want to keep the "real Jay" around specifically to torment him with the knowledge that someone is pretending to be him. "Because it would be fun" really is a valid answer here.

Yeah. Plus lots of people point to "dad" on the phone. But that title would really go to whoever has been in Barry's life the most. The "dad" on the step phone could easily be Barry's step father who was his father for most of his life. Especially if Henry got divorced very early on in Earth 2 Barry's life due to having difficulty juggling crime fighting and family. This could also be a large part of why Earth 2 Barry had a very different personality than the Barry we know, a chip on his shoulder from a broken family as it were. Basically bottom line is if someone is your father for many many years, that's who most refer to as "dad." As someone from a "broken" family, I never took 'dad' as a definitive pointer to it referencing Henry.

Wait...wasn't "Dad" just referring to Earth-2 Joe?

What an awesome twist. Only thing that would have made it better is if he wore the 90's Flash suit.

Well it was wrapped up with jay garrick having henry face. but he's from earth 3 so we didn't earth 2 herny with nora . but they wanted a fast wrap up. So it's all resolve. . ...

Oh , no it not the event of seeing jay made barry wan to mess with time creating flash point. and now he may get time wraths on his butt for ever.

"Mom and Dad"

Joe didn't adopt Barry in Earth2.

No point now since Earrh 3, but still that 'Dad' could have not been Henry depending on if there was a divorce and how long the other 'Dad' might have been around in Barry's life.

Dad was his wife's dad, i.e., Joe.

There was Mom and Dad

Then Dad.

Hell, dependning on the relationship Barry might not even have put Earth 2 Henry on the machine in that theory

As said null point now. But they did leave that one open. A divorced kid with a better father for longer would call that guy 'dad' (thus 'mom and dad'), like if a divorce happened when he was 5 years old for instance.

Right. Mom and Dad referred to his actual parents (where he spoke with his mom on the phone) and Dad referred to Joe (i.e., his father-in-law). This is because, as husband and wife, Barry and Iris shared the same phone and had the same speed dial.

It's all moot for this topic, I was just trying to explain the phone's logic for those not getting it.

A bit disappointed that they went with the New 52 suit, but I'm glad they kept the helmet. For a second there I thought he was going to go with that weird mask-thing from the New 52.
