Does anyone think instead of a SR sequel, Bryan Singer will opt to create an extended cut of SR??

That special edition dvd could be really cool.

I'd love that but I reckon if we ever see it, it will be when the next Superman movie comes out as part of the promotion.

I find it funny when he says that SR showed a Superman full of virtue, completely good when all I see is a Superman who destroyed a family, made a lot of mistakes, wasn't man enough to say goodbye to Lois, is an absent father, etc etc...

Superman destroyed a family? Last I check, Lois & Richard are still together. He never once destroyed them as some claim.

Also, how can he be an "absent father" when he didn't know Jason was his son until the end?!? Some are always make up excuses & ignore the real fact there. If you don't know you has a son, you're not a deadbeat dad & all that crap. Deadbeat dad is someone who is aware of their kid, but will not support them. And it wasn't until the ending, that Supes know he has a son & will be there for him. If not, he wouldn't make that speech to him at the end. :whatever:

He never destroyed a family.

Not to mention that it is Lois the one who was always reluctant to marry Richard and make them a normal family.

And, as far as we know, Richard and Lois think Jason is Richard's: ZOMG! Richard had a son out of marriage and he's still heroic. Can't be; he's a sinner.

And "virtue" doesn't deny the mistakes in anybody's life. Even the holiest saints have sinned.

Superman was man enough to abandon his life because of his duty towards his original race. That's much better than say no to his mission because you want to bed the girl. If anything, not saying good-bye is the only true mistake he made. But, we all know by now, Lois is his only weakness and she could have prevented him to carry out his duty; after the events in SII that what he's learnt.

And he was an absent father just until the minute he knew he was a father.

Man, if at least they could articulate a little better and more accurate to what actually happened in the movie instead of copy/pasting the same false crap in order to complain.

What... duty... to his original race?

Possible Kryptonian survivors.

So? That doesn't change the fact that Richard thought Jason was his and therefore he was okay with having a son out of marriage. That doesn't make him any less heroic or noble. Same with Superman. It is only by the end of the film that he knows Jason is his.

I don't see where duty comes into this. I don't recall Superman going back to rescue survivors, who, did they exist, should have made a colony already after so many years. He went back in hopes of finding out that he's not alone. It's a selfish, albeit understandable, motive. That's the theme of the whole movie.

No argument here.......just setting the record straight.

Survivors from a planet that exploded. Sounds like a job for Superman. Being him Kryptonian and all, that's his original race.

I don't recall Superman going back to rescue survivors,

Well, he didn't go there for vacations. Or rock collecting. He was there to look for survivors.

who, did they exist, should have made a colony already after so many years.

In a little chunk of a planet. At least a super-powered fellow might take care of them, like he does in comics with Kandorians.

Finding out he's not alone. That sounds a lot like looking for survivors.

The lonely feeling came afterwards, when he found out there was nothing left.

Can we move the hysteria into the proper section and the proper threads?

I didn't mean to start all the arguments again but its clear that Singer has made some questionable decisions regarding SR and Superman DEFINITELY wasn't this hero Singer said the public wanted to see and missed...

I just had to delete a large amount of off topic stupidity, including several of my own posts. Let's stay on topic.

You want to talk Superman Returns, there is a section for that.

This is about Bryan Singer's involvement in Superman going forward.

Why would there be survivors to a planet that exploded like 30 years ago that still needed rescue? I mean if some one is still alive by the time it took Singerman to return, haven’t you pretty much already survived.

^What gets me is that it was made public that Krypton may still be around. So after that news broke and Superman left without saying goodbye, why in the hell is Lois wondering where Superman went? Couldn't she put two and two together and figure since Krypton is still possibly around that perhaps Superman went to go check it out. Or did Singer really make her, and rest of the Daily Planet staff for that matter, that dumb? :down

Because the planet was supposed to be completely destroyed and apparently it wasn't.

That's why they're called "survivors."

Now, the thing is in what conditions are they living.

I think she was actually trying to figure out why.

But you never know, Daily Planet staff interacts with Clark on a daily basis and they have seen Superman many times - specially Lois - and they're unable to realize that the glasses are the only difference between both of them. :)

Showtime, do you ever get the feeling people just don't like to listen?

I really wish the studio hadn't forced Singer to cut the scenes that revealed that the whole thing was Luthor's plot. If Luthor had fabricated evidence that Kryptonian survivors existed who needed Superman's help it all becomes more believable.

There, I mentioned Singer. Is that on topic? :oldrazz:

Seriously Showtime, in this drought of news, I can't say I envy you.

It's a job for Superman.

Hmmm... maybe that's why your avvy is so...

Doesn't really bother me all that much. It is what it is.
