I like the sound of this.

Tonally, long stretches of this movie, particularly the scenes set in Italy, feel more like something out of Patton than, say, Iron Man, and that's a very fun change of pace.

The negative reviews of this movie have been a joke. They clearly expected something else in this movie that never was going to be there. Captain America isn't Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne. He is a soldier, not an eccentric.

"He lacks the inner turmoil that DC Comics' Batman brought to the genre"

i love the dark knight series but seriously the fans and critics need to get off nolans dick. not all comic films are the same

This might not be relevant to most here but here is quite a positive review from a fellow Montrealer who seems to get the movie more than some narrow sighted American reviewers.

The other good thing is, 12 of the 16 Top Critics have it as positve, with a 75% freshness rating. Which means they are probably reaching a broader audience then the average reviewer, as a result it means more positve buzz for Cap overall.

The entire way RT has been handling the reviews for CA has been fishy.

As soon as people started mentioning the fishiness going on, the score is now starting to look more like its supposed to in accordance to the plethora of great reviews out there.

Agreed. I love Nolan and his Batman movies but comparisons to them just need to stop. Not every summer blockbuster movie is going to be TDK--Captain America least of all. This phenomenon of comparing every movie to TDK would be critics comparing every crime/gangster movie that ever comes out to The Godfather I/II & Goodfellas.


The dam has been broken with positive reviews it appears. Rotten Tomatoes and the suspected saboteurs there are trapped in their tower of denial, just like Sauromon. t:

I am suprised Roeper did not like considering how right he was about Thor, and I thought he was generous to the Green Lantern. His complaint with Atwell's acting that has the first I have heard of that.

One thing I think is a constant even in very postive reviews, don't see this in 3-d.

It's funny because the reviewer Ann Hornaday, kind of looks like she belongs in a Harry Potter Movie in the picture on Rotten Tomatoes. She wrote an excellent review for Cap though.

I'm extremely about about Cap's current status of 71% fresh on RT. Hopefully it will get to around 75% but as long it is above 70% it is a major victory.
