They damn sure shouldn't be expecting the deepest drama in the universe.

So because it is a comic book film, people should expect a fun romp through one of the great atrocities?

You assume it lacks any bit of respect for it. Apparently you've seen the film.

The movie's concept creates it's own story within a time in order to avoid disrespect. I know it's hard for you to grasp.

Well they shouldn't go in expecting a historical war film either, cuz, you know... super soldiers and cosmic cubes and all.

YES!

Inglorious Basterds, Great Escape, Kellys Heroes, Dirty Dozen, 1942, The Rocketeer, Indiana Jones, Hogan's Heroes, McHale's Navy, etc. Not all World War II movies have to be realistic and depressing. And for the record, the U.S. participation in WWII wasn't depressing or an atrocity. It was a victory and a source of pride for the country.

Comic books in and of their their selves a trivialization.

And you need to realize that by setting it when they did, their are going to be people that find that disrespectful no matter what. People still exist who were directly and indirectly effected by an attempt to not only conquer the world, but an attempt to wipe an entire race from the earth.

Go tell someone from New York that you are going to make a truly sincere Spider-Man film in the backdrop of 9/11. See how many wouldn't want anything to do with it.

It'll probably end up getting about the same rating as Joe Johnston's last film

I would laugh if WB was purposely holding out on the positive reviews over at RT because of jealousy issues.

Tell that to those that didn't see their sons, brothers and fathers come home.

Personally, it doesn't bother me. To reject that it would bother anyone, is ridiculous to me.

Captain America existed back then as well, why didn't they complain about the comic back then? Oh thats right becuase they were smart enough to realize it was fantasy! :whatever: Heck Cap became popular because of what he stood for at the time, This is a respectful adaptation of the "Comic" not WWII the sooner you realize this the less of an idiot you(And others with your mentality) will look like. I'm done with this stupid debate.

The idea that this film will not get positive reviews on the whole is off the mark to me. As is the idea of some sort of conspiracy to harm this film by WB or Paramount.

You win end of debate.

Are we done with this absurd debate? Her review holds no weight and that's that. Now let's see some legitimate reviews roll in already. You guys think they'll pour in around midnight? Most top critics probably won't, but I figure most media sites at least have had their reviews typed with their fingers hovering over the post button for a while now, positive or negative.

Really? No matter what? You've taken a poll? You've interviewed ex-WWII vets?

You're right though. There's probably a scene in the movie where people in Auschwitz are having tea and crumpets.

It is a legitimate review. Legit enough for RT at the very least.

I would tell that to them and I am sure they would probally agree with me. Who exactly would be bothered by a fantasy movie taking place during WWII about a science experiment fighting against a fictional rouge Nazi division? This is nonsense, Darth and you know it.

I think that it's a legit review and I respect her opinion. I still don't expect every movie with that particular war is going to be uber serious. And thats not a criticism of her review, it's just a comment.

I tweeted Warner... I mean @RottenTomatoes and asked them what's taking so long with approved RT critic Roger Moore's positive review of Captain America, and they replied to me with a blank.

Just a blank.

As if they forgot to write something or accidentally hit replied.

On a side note: @JaimieAlexander (Lady Sif in Thor) just tweeted she's attending the Captain America screening tonight.

My mother has trouble with Vietnam. She also was quite uncomfortable with X-Men FC because she lived through the Cuban missile crisis.

Again, may not bother you or others. Doesn't really bother me. We aren't everyone.

"Legit enough for RT" isn't saying much. But Metacritic's another story, and I believe the Village Voice review is legit enough for them, too.

I'm not worried, but I do wish RT would at least put Roger Moore's review up too, before more blogs pick up the "First RT Review is Negative" ~story~.
