Days of Future Past The Official Comic Con Thread

back when IM1 was at comic con... it wasn't so hard. just get in line 2hrs before and you're in ... now... not so much :(

SDCC realllllly needs moved to LA at a bigger venue. the amount of time it takes to wait in line (and miss everything else while doing so) has become utterly ridiculous.

you can be there 4 days and not pick up a single exclusive figure, or sit in at a panel

sucks alot of fun out of the event :(

I saw some pictures of the lines from this weekend, and... :wow:

I think they're selling too many tickets and they hand out an infinite number of industry passes these days. Everyone i know in LA in the industry (even when it's incredibly loooooooosely tied into the genre) is able to get a free pass for 4 days.

it's really gotten horrible, and it use to be SOOO much fun

Always prefered going to Wondercon cause you just walk into the main hall panel, I think it can actually hold about 1000 more people then Hall H when its been in Anaheim. I always go to SDCC wihtout thinking Hall H is a possibillity, been disappointed too many years. Been more fun that way. Place is like Mardis Gras for geeks now....which is still awesome!

it just sucks that you have to wait in line at 3am to get a ticket to wait in line for 12 hours the next day to be able to get an exclusive figure that sells out before you actually get to buy it :(

and then wait in line 5+hrs (and might not even get into a panel)

I would love to go to SDCC just for everything else that goes on there. It sounds like a blast, regardless of the Hall H insanity.

I'm going to NY Comic-Con this fall, and I usually go to the Chiller Theater conventions in NJ. Got some cool Japanese X-Men programs at one of those.

It was a disasters. I walked right into the Avengers panel in NY, but waited five hours for nothing yesterday. :(

Yeah, time can be a gamble there. I've waited in the wrong lines a few times due to misinformation by the staff. People around were mis informed as well. That pissed me off.

It is! Something crazy around every corner.

Boooo!! That really sucks. I hope at least the rest of the trip was better.

My trip to LA that I'm still on, yes. My 1 day visit to San Diego? Hell no.

I really wish someone would have sued about cyclops lol. A fan asked about the undoing of X3 and previous movies, so Cyclops should have been addressed. The fan did go on to say please bring him back, but there was no response to it.

Argh, I don't have hope for cyclops at this point. If he IS in the film, I feel really bad for Marsden, I do. He shouldn't be missing out on this.

Damn X3!!!:jedi

She didn't seem unhappy. I've watched all the footage and she laughed and smiled loads of times. She touched Bryan as she walked past. And she was talking to him while on the panel.

Anna is just a little awkward in interview situations. It's her personality. And she says when she has the serious face on it doesn't mean she's moody that's just her normal look. She isn't as openly laid back as other cast members, she never has been in these kinds of things. Plus that was her second panel in about an hour (she came from the TB one) and she was probably a bit over the audience thing.
I agree IMO she came off as a shy girl, eventhough shes a woman and use to this by now but I felt she wasnt moody or anything she just seems more reserved compared to the rest of the cast.

Thnigs to do in LA before you leave.

-Walk along the santa monica pier

-3rd street prominade

-take a hike on runyon canyon

-visit the griffith observatory

-visit the getty art museum

-brunch and 1 martini at the abbey (its way too crowded with straights at night, and the drinks are really expensive)

-drinks in weho at Fiesta Cantina (hit there late night happy hour) 2 drinks for the price of 1, and try there AMF, you can just ask for an Adios, and they will know what you mean. after a night of weho, walk to the IHOP and feast on pancakes with a completely inebriated restaurant.

-see if you can fit time in to see a movie at the hollywood forever cemetery. it's pretty awesome

- go on a sony studios tour prices arn't that bad

I would love it if Comic-Con was here in L.A....but those lines sound awful...almost like it's not worth it... but I'd go just to be in the atmosphere...and probably cover it for my newspaper...

And Disneyland!! :argh: :oldrazz:

i was being budget conscious lol Disneyland (park hopper) and Six Flags is a must if you have the money.

Universal is ok, there's like 5 rides, but for a first timer its fun to go on there studio tram tour

Oh we're in six flags right now with the most expensive Flash pass. :o

It's actually identical to mine in Jersey, which is fun.

Its not even worth it really. Other than the X2 i never really had to wait long for anything anyway

Some info that hasn't been mentioned by other sites, this one from AICN:

We got quick glimpses of Bishop and a bunch of future mutant folk with Pris Blade Runner style over the top make up on. Bishop looked like his picture recently, not all Kabuki'd up.

[Xavier]'s scruffy, looking more like a Vietnam Vet than a Professor. He's detached, sad, feeling sorry for himself. Our first look at [Xavier] had him in front of the Cerebro door, the light forms a blue X on his face as the door slowly opens. We saw a shot of McAvoy blowing dust off of Cerebro, doing a mind meld type thing with Wolverine and glimpses of Nixon, the presidential escape tunnel being opened up and crowds rioting.

(Between looking like a Vietnam Vet and now Dusty Cerebro?, is Xavier a recluse in this? Might be same reason only Beast stayed behind as there is now team.)

[Trask] sitting behind a bank of microphones, possibly in front of a congressional body.

Fassbender has a good moment where he's floating amongst a panicked crowd, hand extended as Mystique slides across the ground (seemingly against her will) towards him through the throngs of people.

I wonder how come Daniel Cudmore wasnt there.

His role is probably not that big and he's not that well-known as an actor, so probably they didn't see the need of including him at the panel.

Or you know, he could have other obligations at the time. Omar Sy isn't that well known either but he was in attendance I wouldn't say that indicates his role is any bigger or smaller.

You people over analyze things way too much.
