The Official Contest of Marvels 3 Discussion Thread

It looks like the debates have pretty much petered out. If you need to rebutt anything or make a final statement, you still have a couple hours.

Sorry Powder, it just pales in comparison to my awsome Paint job. :)

It's actually really good. Wish I knew how to use photoshop or whatever it is that does the fade looking things and such. And that's an interesting picture of Dust. Where'd you get that one?

I found most of my pics on comicvine. By far the best resource for pictures.

Crap I just realized that is Dusk not Dust. I have Dusk an that's a picture of her but I mistakenly put Dust on the grid.

I know nothing is meant in it; but, just a reminder after debating is over, we aren't allowed to say anything about our matches until voting is over. I saw this happened last week also, and I understand that nothing is meant by it besides just saying your thoughts...but, I don't want anyone thinking someone is possibly pandering for votes. (Again, I know this isn't what you're doing Hellstormer; I just want to make sure one simple comment doesn't get blown out of context.)

I just would like to point out one thing which I found wrong in principle.

This is regarding the Debrii vs Tri-sentinel match. Random felt that in the middle of voting he had to point out that the vote was tied whereas Tri Sentinel had an immediate healing factor and should not be challenged in this battle. This was outside of his voting post. Then JeHob felt it necesarry to quote him with a heart symbol.

First off, this is no way a dispute of the result which I think was more then fair (I was even surprised I was able to get a few votes).

But given you have declared that no debating should be done once voting started then other people posting their feeling on the battle outside of why they voted that then should not be allowed and certainly the playing defending a character should not quote him. On top of that, given JewHub is a commissioner then he should have said something such as please do not make such a post instead of condoning it.

Anyone can post their reasons for voting, including anything that the debate may have left out. That's been okay since day one. But I do see your reasoning for being against my quoting. I was pretty much just saying thank you for mentioning something I forgot about, but I didn't think about it possibly swinging any votes. You're right, I shouldn't have and I am sorry for it.

Its fine and I really doubt it swung any votes. As stated I was already surprised to have even got 4. I just thought since it was not stated in his voting post but in a later one claiming his surprise on how people voted that it should not have been posted and certainly not quoted by you.

Thankyou for apologising.

We do have the rule that voters are suppose to vote before reading other people's reasons for voting. (That's very, very important. If someone's remarks actually made a person to vote another way, I think all of us would agree we'd do away with personal comments.) The only time someone's comments can sway voters is if it's two characters owned by the same person.

I agree that the comment you are talking about is one I also questioned. It almost questioned those of us who were voting for Debrii, and probably should be saved for after the match was finished. It's one thing to say, "Wow, this match is tied," and another thing to declare shock and astonishment that someone has a chance of getting a tie in a match. To me, it's all in the context of the words.

Now, I will say I know Random meant nothing against your character or the voters in what he said. Many of us have made a mistake or two in the contest, and I think at least four or five of us have had to edit comments left in the threads. That comment fell in a grey line; and, when I questioned it, I should have probably pmed and made mention of it. So, I blame myself for not taking care of a problem that I thought might come up. Sorry, Ahura.

Ok, most of the matches are decided; but, we're waiting on a couple more votes to come through; plus, Harlekin still has to vote in Thread 4. Voting will end around the time I leave work tonight, which is 5 PM PST.

For those wondering, here are the next three locations:

6) New York 2099
7) Wakanda
8) Avalon/Asteroid M

Thanks Harl, got your votes. I think we just have two more possible votes to be submitted. WitchKing and Hellstormer. Hellstormer might be busy again; though, I'm not sure on that.

Witchking's at work until around 4:00pm (my time, Ohio, I should really know my time zones by now) and he may have to work his 2nd job after that, I'm not sure. Just FYI.

And I'm glad to see that 2099 is the next location. 2 of my 5 matches are 2099 characters.

Junkyard (JH) Vs Gambit
Nostromo (Phalanx) (JH) Vs Professor Power

Though my Mimic (Exiles) is going against Shakti Haddad, so that sucks, but I think Mimic is a strong enough character to over come that.

Ohio's in the Central time zone, so you're two hours ahead.

And Looking ahead:

New York 2099:

Junkyard (JH) Vs Gambit
Nostromo (Phalanx) (JH) Vs Professor Power
Mimic (Exiles) (JH) Vs Shakti Haddad
Wallflower (House of M) (JH) Vs Invisible Woman
Davos the Steel Phoenix (JH) Vs Tusk

Wakanda:

Kaine (JH) Vs Deadpool (heck of a fight)
Mondo (AoA) (JH) Vs Vapor

Plus my own characters:

Spidercide (JH) Vs Trauma (JH)
Demogoblin (JH) Vs Vincente (JH)

Avalon/Asteroid M:

Reignfire (JH) Vs Vampire by Night
Halloween Jack (JH) Vs Monet St. Croix
