Also Magneto has an awesome costume to show off, Xavier is hippied out, not as cover friendly as Magneto.
Okay. If people believe that penis jokes made by Clooney are the measurement of the importance of any actor worldwide, I have nothing more to add.I'm surprised that there's even an argument about whether Fassbender is more known than McAvoy in the States.
When George Clooney is making jokes about the size of your equipment during the Golden Globes, I think you've officially made it in Hollywood.![]()
I didn't say people would complain to see him on a cover. I said people would complain if he was on a cover instead of Hugh or Fassbender, in a group shot with the actors who are supposed to play the main characters in the film.
Okay, one thing has nothing to do with the other. First, I feel sorry for fans when their favorite characters are cut from the film, like Rogue, or underused, like Psylocke. And I don't have ANY kind of problems with fans complaining about any of this, even if other people have problems about me complaining about whatever I'm complaining. Anyway, I never jumped on anyone for complaining about their favorite characters being snubbed or something, because I believe that forums are a way of venting about whatever it is that saddens or angers you. Eventually the pity party is over and you move on, but some people just like to keep nagging and nagging, instead of moving on too. Which is crazy. Like I said, I rarely post here and people kind of know what to expect of me so that they can put me on ignore and I won't bother them, so it's difficult to understand some extreme reactions to whatever I say.
Like I'll never understand the extreme reaction to Angamb. Yes, he complained a lot about spoilers or some other absurd thing, but people like him bring diversity to a forum. I like crazy and absurd people, and if you are not being offensive to anyone in particular, then why not? How boring to have so much common sense all the time. How boring to see people liking the same things, or hating the same things.
Second, the magazine cover. Yes, we could have had an EW cover with Blink, Colossus and Iceman and it would have been cool. But realistic? No. So it's not a surprise to guess that the fans of those characters wouldn't expect this to happen, so there wouldn't be complaints. But there's a character called Charles Xavier and even EW magazine says in the article that he has the main arc in the film and then you look at the cover and the actor playing the character isn't there. A realistic expectation that the guy would be featured and then a realistic complaint that he isn't? I guess so.
This was my original message:That's not true, and if that's what you think of the people of this forum, then you're not paying attention to it at all.
Please point me in the direction of any accusation I made to anyone here or any personal attack. It was a comment about what I consider a bad editorial decision. People can agree or disagree with what EW decided to do with the cover; I disagree. Apparently, I can't, because as soon as I claim I would like to see McAvoy on the cover, I'm attacking or offending someone here. Curious. The next poster said I was *********. Which is something personal, while I was just complaining about the magazine and not saying "I bet you're all happy that McAvoy was excluded". Anyway, the person later said he was sorry and I said it was okay and explained why the lack of James/Charles on the cover bothered me so much. Again, not pointing fingers at anyone here, only at EW. To me, the subject was over. But then a lot of posters, including you, tried to make me feel like a wacko for making a simple complaint. They mention Charles Xavier's backstory being the main focus of the film and didn't even bother to include McAvoy and Stewart on the cover. Nice, EW. I'll save my money on this one.
Again, I never once touched the subject of people here not liking him. I really don't understand why you're insisting with this. Of course if more people were upset about the cover snub, nice, but I never wrote anything to rally people against EW or suggest we should send them hate messages and burn all the issues. I gave my OWN opinion on the subject, said I wasn't going to buy the issue and that was it. Again with no personal attacks and not calling anyone here names or suggesting that they don't like McAvoy.Except that you seem to think that because people aren't getting as upset because James McAvoy was excluded from a magazine cover that they don't care or that they dislike him. That's not true. No one here is doing. Hell, this very discussion has all involved talking about how much they like him.
What assumptions and what I'm accusing people of? Please explain. I said I didn't like the cover, the next poster said I was *********. Yeah I can see how being annoyed with a magazine causes a deep distress on people. Saying I don't like something is making accusations? You can be upset about it, but you need to stop making up these crazy assumptions when everyone doesn't react the same as you. It doesn't mean they don't care. If they're getting mad at you, it's because you keep accusing them of things that just aren't true.
We are not aware of what posters say in private to mods and I have no idea of what Angamb says on twitter because I'm not interested in following him. Of course I only knew what he wrote here. If he said that it's terrible. But then I had a poster here accusing me of being mentally unstable, publicly. Definitely terrible too, but we have to deal with people not being nice almost daily during all our lives, not only in forums.Well, he called me the c-word and told me to go kill myself. He's still doing it on Twitter now that he's banned. Still think he brings the fun to this forum? Remember that the next time you want to complain about what you have to put up with on this forum.
The fact that "we can't do anything about it" hasn't stopped people from complaining about Cyclops' death or whatever. The cover annoyed me, I expressed myself, and to me the subject was over as soon as I vented about it. People could simply ignore what I said or disagree without personal attacks - and there were people who did it. But if people are calling me names or suggesting I'm this or that because I expressed a simple opinion, they are justified because I'm upsetting them when I defend an actor? Wow, really. But he's not. That's just how it is, and there's nothing we can do about it. He's on other covers, and doing plenty of other promos...so not everyone thinks its the slight that you're making it out to be. That's all it is.

Staff meeting or not, he was still excluded. I read a lot of tweets yesterday from people complaining. I read one yesterday of a person showing a photo of EW in her hands saying "Man, they burned James McAvoy". Of course here, I'm the only one who cares. So be it.

As for people complaining if James / Charles was on the cover but not Fassbender...do you really think there wouldn't be complaints if that happened? Magneto is much more admired in this forum than Charles Xavier; this is quite obvious. How is this making false accusations? I never said that people would hate seeing McAvoy on the cover, but many would probably hate seeing Magneto be excluded because the magazine needed to show Xavier.

Does the following have good ratings? All I've seen of Daniel is from those twilight movies.

Well sense marketing is free I think it's safe to assume they can go all out.I feel you, but I think its probably expensive?
But since the budget is already big, might as well go big with marketing.
