Homecoming The Official "Don't Panic" Thread

So let's see:

The 2017 film will have to go into production next year (2016). Avengers Infinity War comes out in 2018, which means that it will have to go into production before the 2017 movie is even released. Correct?

This is the 2 thing we worried about. While the cast rumors will die after the cast announcement but rothman issue will remain in long terms.

Based on Marvel's usual production schedules, yes. Avengers will probably start shooting in April 2017. Whoever ends up playing Spidey will have a busy schedule, given Infinity War will be a LONG shoot, and likely pick up only a few months after Spider-Man finishes filming.

Oh and about that Miles/Ethnic Peter Parker rumor, straight from his primary source:

Need I say more? Rumor debunked.
What did the tweet say?

Oh and guys, relax.

I think we really have to worry about Spider-Man post Avengers: IW.

I don't. The main films I'm not worried about. Marvel will still have input. It's the spin-offs that could be potentially troubling, though I wouldn't be surprised if Rothman outright cancels them

And if Spidey is in CW a decent amount, not much time for other projects for the next 2 years.

Jeff basically said not to take what he said so seriously. It's just something he said on a podcast and is surprised people are reporting it as if it was news. It was never an article put on "the Wrap" and people need to stop talking about it.

And then he made it clear that he hates Peter Parker. Afterwards Sneider started trolling people about Peter getting killed in Civil War and being replaced by Miles (he admitted to trolling here) and started saying that Spider-Man fans are the worst.

Let's keep this in mind: Marvel is delaying 4 of their own movies for this 2017 Spider-Man film. They care A LOT about it.

I doubt he'll have more than a months shooting for Civil War. I Seriously doubt Spidey will have as big a role as everyone's suggesting.

I imagine Spider-Man will have a small introductory role in Civil War at best.

How does he expect people to NOT take it seriously when flat out says Spider-Man won't be white? And that he's 95% sure of it. There was no sarcasm in that podcast, he was stating it as if he knew something. Now he's defensive? Should keep his fat mouth shut next time, he just wanted to stir something up.

Thank you. Excellent points.

I'm only expecting Peter Parker, not Spidey. I think JK Simmons will be in it as JJJ too
I could see JJJ being brought into the mix. Whether or not it is just Peter Parker or Spider-Man--I have no idea. Maybe it will just be a post-credits scene?

I'd love the credits scene to be Peter being bitten by the spider. That would be awesome.

I would actually love for the post-credits scene to be Peter Parker trying to sell photos of Spider-Man to Jameson. It could end with Peter leaving the Bugle and we get a REALLY quick glimpse at Spider-Man swinging. Cut to black.

I'm sure Peter's role In Civil War won't just be a cameo.

I think it will be sort of a glorified cameo. I mean the movie does start filming in a couple of months...

When I think about his role I keep thinking about when the writers said, "more headaches for us" or something along those lines. I think his role may be more important than we think.

I'm sure the deal between Sony and Marvel has been in the works for a while now.
As many people have said before, I'm sure Marvel had two scripts, one with Spidey and one without Spidey.
Spidey's role in CW might be small, but I think it'll be an important one.

I don't care enough to panic. :p

Good thread idea though.

I like this thread. I want to remain optimistic because of Fiege's and Marvel's involvement in general.

This. If it wasn't for the involvement of Feige and Marvel at this point, I'd be done with the movies.

Can you imagine if they weren't involved?? We'd still have Tolmach and Arad as producers involved in the creative process with Rothman as their boss.
