Regarding the Venom suit I wouldn't introduce that until two or three films in. And have a whole film with Spidey in the symbiote suit before you introduce Venom.

After a few days and learning that Rothman still has to report to Michael Lynton has calmed me down a bit, but I'm still quite concerned. I will wait and see who they cast as Peter Parker and if he looks promising, that will at least be a good sign.

That would be possibility if spidey becomes the center figure during infinity wars. It would help him a lot against Thanos

I'd be fine with giving someone like Dylan O'Brien a shot, but I'm pretty open. What I want to see is a commitment to giving us the Peter Parker we've known and loved for 50 years, as opposed to openly antagonizing the fanbase right out of the gates. With the franchise on thin ice as it is, now is not the time to get overly creative making changes to the long-time version.

I am sure Sony Japan has Rothman's balls in their hands. They are not gonna let him **** up this deal with Marvel. He is going to be on a short leash when it comes to Spider-Man. The other Sony movies I am more worried about.

If they cast Pauly Shore as Peter,
I would be concerned.
Barring something crazy like that happening ,
I will most likely support whoever they cast in the role .

Jeff basically said not to take what he said so seriously. It's just something he said on a podcast and is surprised people are reporting it as if it was news. It was never an article put on "the Wrap" and people need to stop talking about it.

And then he made it clear that he hates Peter Parker. Afterwards Sneider started trolling people about Peter getting killed in Civil War and being replaced by Miles (he admitted to trolling here) and started saying that Spider-Man fans are the worst.

i bet he's never even read a Spider-Man comic, Peter OR Miles led regardless, and is just throwing out Miles because he fits his agenda, not because of any genuine love for the character.

I was stunned so many took him seriously because I didn't. He sounded like a guy smack talking, with nothing to back it up.

By the same token , I didn't sweat the Rothman announcement because you know Disney/Marvel would never put themselves in the position to be at the mercy of wacky Sony creative mandates. If anything they would be more likely to Bogart the whole thing or just walk away.
