Homecoming The Official "Don't Panic" Thread

I have a feeling that after whoever is cast is announced this thread will be more necessary :oldrazz:

I think that be the case for some if it's Lintz or lewis. And yo a degree if it's asa for some.

with Marvel on board now my worry (the lesser cousin of panic) thats been churning in my gut since Maguire's Spiderman 3 has pretty much abated. it was a long time trying to keep that beast under control.

honestly i couldnt think of any actor Marvel ever hired (as its FIRST casting choice) that was a bad pick. Warmachine (salary fiasco) and Hulk (ego fiasco) aside, all roles major or minor were filled perfectly. so yeah im pretty assured that whoever will be the next Spiderman will be a wonderful fit for the franchise and the MCU

For me I said it many times. Who ever ends up our pick. I hope he can play the duality of the role well. And has a look that screams pete and spidey.

To me, that is Tom Holland. I believe he can be the definitive Spider-Man/Peter

Ys right niw tom is my top pick. Rowe a close second. And if it wasn't those two I take plummer. The rest including asa I don't want. But I would take asa over those two younger guys.

My thoughts exactly.

If Marvel don't know who they want after all this time, I'm going to be:

One can only hope that the right choice is made.
I mean, this is the positive thread , right?

My foundations are starting to worry... They're scared of shaking.

I would panic with lintz and lewis. But I honestly can't see marvel picking them and dealing with parents being a minor. Labor laws for solo 1 filming. And the unknown factors in there acting and how they will change with puberty.

Personally it is still more likely it's tom rowe and asa who is likely the pick. And each of them have a better look for role. Are slightly better known named. And since they are older less concerns on stuff like labor laws and could they handle the pressure for a role like this. And more likely to want to do a big long term commitment. Vs a yoynger kid could want out after a movie or too to go to school work other things or just plain quit acting for a bit and just be a kid.

I'd worry if we start hearing rumors stuff about Marvel and Sony having a hard time agreeing or being divided about which actor to chose among the finalists. Another reason I would worry is if none of the finalists pleases them and they find themselves against the clock. A further reason I would worry is if they wouldn't consider other options if the "finalists" weren't up to snuff for the part.
Those are the only sort extreme scenarios that I would concern me about the project.

I can't see things getting nutty with marvel and sony to we actually get into production on the solo itself. But that I'd the question gug. How is this partnership going to work out.

Anyone catch the first live action Gwen Stacy in Jurrasic World and what did people think of it?

I'm gonna say it, just shoulda stuck with Garfield. The Marvel/Sony deal brought me great joy but when I heard that Garfield was out and they wanted Spidey in high school again, I wasn't as thrilled with the deal anymore.
Honestly people, yes Spidey started off as a high schooler, but how long did he stay there in his comic? As long as I've liked Spidey, he was an adult and married.
And just think about it, so they cast a 16 year old theoretically, by the time the movies are filmed and released, that 16 year old is probably 17/18, and by the time the next movie is filmed and released he's probably 20/21 at the very least...so that makes 2 films of him in "high school". You guys honestly want more films than that of him in school?
I know that there are generations of Spidey fans, all growing up in a different era of Spidey. But I think the essence of Spidey is that he is the "every MAN" and not kid. The idea of any of these "baby faces" potentials for casting does not thrill me a bit.
Flame me if you like, the name of the character says it all, Spider-MAN...simple as that.
Besides we seen him in high school for 2 films already, way do we need to keep going backwards.

Marvel wanted to start fresh, why is it so hard to understand? They don't want to miss out on his high school years as its a big dynamic to the group.

As much as hs isn't liked. We have to look at this from marvel film. First going yoynger makes it easier to explain why spidry hasn't been in the picture last 8 to 10 yrs in the film verse we have seen on acreen. Second as Kevin said it's a new area they haven't touched in mcu. Going with yoynger teen heroes. Since all the others so far are late 20s to 50+ yr olds heroes. And also remember peter won't be a teen forever. It's not like they are locking him in to only be a teen at 15 or 16 for the next decade or so. He will grow and then once in film verse character hits that late 20s early 30s deal age likely won't be talked about and character then be a roughly 30 yrs old.

My only fears about this movie are because that dumb HS trilogy idea, that destroyed a big part of excitement that can only partially recover if they choose the right actor for the role :awesome:

Really on hs thing. We still don't know how it will be done. How many films we will get. Same with that we don't even known when sequels will happen. And if mcu time scale stays the same through all of phase 3 it already gives us a lock of peter going between ages 15 to 19 yrs old. Again the character won't be a kid forever. And I doubt he would be post end of phase 3. And all that jazz.
