The Official Fables Thread

If you think the fourth TPB, wait until you read the fifth TPB that's due to come out early next year :)

BTW: Yeah, it is a bit obvious that
Gepetto
is the Adversary. Look at Chaos's post in this page. That could be a more plausible choice for the Adversary actually.

Oh, I just checked. Here's what's coming out this March:

FABLES: THE MEAN SEASONS Softcover
Writer: Bill Willingham
Artists: Mark Buckingham, Steve Leialoha, Tony Akins, Jimmy Palmiotti and James Jean
Collects issues #22 and 28-33
$14.99 U.S., 160 pages

So there you go. Issues 22 is coming out in the next TPB :) I guess they just didn't wanna include that issue in the previous TPB because it already contained like 8 issues and the Last Castle one-shot

Fables, Fables, Fables, Fables.

I'm loving this series. Looks like we might be getting some (more) good stories with
the introduction of Bigby's father and the fact that Snow might have another child that she doesn't even know about.

Why isn't anyone else talking about this?

Fables is fantastic.

Because I don't have the money to keep up with the title, so I've only been able to get the first 30 issues off of suprnnova. :(

Damn you. Go sell a kidney or something to get the money. Fables is far more important than fully filtered blood.

I already sold mine. I'm on dialysis twice a day.

And did you really need to say it three times?

That was the edit function going really wonky. I hadn't noticed until now.

I've been talking about this title since like.....forever. But sadly, not enough people read this book. :(

I've been talking about it too. I've fallen behind lately, though. I've got 3 issues waiting to be read by the side of my bed now. I keep telling myself when they come out to save the best for last, then I get bored of reading comics about halfway through my pile and do something else. I'll get to 'em one day, though.

YOu should never save the best for last. Me, I always save the best for first. So yeah, I always end up reading Fables first or second :D

Ah, I've finally found the thread for the best comic ever...

I finally read the 3 issues of Fables I've had sitting next to my bed for the past few months! Wow, the start of another great story. I liked the fact that Willingham's willing to let the story take its natural course rather than force Snow and Bigby to stay in their positions to preserve a status quo. Beast seems to be shaping up as a decent sheriff, too. I'm curious about Blue and what's gonna happen to him, as well as what Frau Totenkinder was talking about in her letter. She doesn't strike me as the type to make mistakes like that. The ending to the last issue had to be the best part of the 3 issues by far though.
The f***ing North Wind wants to see his grandkids!
Can't wait for the next issue.

Yep. That's what I love about the series as well. Nothing just stays the same. So much stuff has been turned over from when the series first started. We've had numerous deaths of characters, a whole shake-up in Fabletown, etc. I mean the series just keeps getting better and better with each arc. Animal Farm was better than Legends in Exile, Storybook Love was better than Animal Farm, March of the Wooden Soldiers was better than SL....This and Y are probably Vertigo's best right now IMO.

Animal Farm is still my favorite arc so far, but there have definitely been improvements throughout the rest of the arc. I love the flux of the series too. It's actually cathartic when you read a trade from start to finish or think back on what's come before and remember old characters who've died and stuff.

I forgot to mention before that I'm also interested in what's gonna happen to Flycatcher now. Poor guy. :(

He should just break more serious laws so he can be put back into community service again :D

Oh, and personally, I can't wait until issue 34 in February. We get another story with Jack of the Tales. I personally thought the Jack in the Tales story back in issue 11 was one of the better stand-alone stories and I can't wait to see what Jack does this time around :)

Wow, I don't even remember the Jack of the Tales story. I've gotta reread that.

How come no one is talking about the new issue?

I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but surely someone has.

Yeah, I've read the issue (of course). And yeah, another great issue. North Wind seems to be a very cool addition to the book. Plus, the revelation near the end of the book was pretty damn sad.

Yeah it was. I think North Wind knows what's going on though, especially after Snow's actions.

I forgot about this thread, actually. I liked the last issue though. The revelation is really sad, but you know it'll have repercussions somewhere down the road. I'm interested in seeing what Bigby does when he finally comes back for the kids and finds his father there.
