Thanks very much for your help. The mutants haven't respawned until now so she/we hadn't realised they actually did!

Yeah, they respawn periodically. Scared the crap out of me the first time it happened. I fast-traveled to the Cliffside Shacks, I think, after I'd already cleared the Super Mutants out, but when it finished loading I had a Super Mutant Master standing literally about 2 feet in front of where I spawned. Very freaky.

I'm stuck between 2 perks, should I take Entomologist or Silent Running?

Yeah, I went with silent running. Perk picking is tough business. :woot:

I mostly just pick perks that improve my VATS accuracy or allow me to bump my skills or SPECIAL up more. I'm trying to build a sniping machine with my current character.

Oh, and I just blew up Megaton. It was pretty sweet. Killing people indiscriminately is more fun than I would've expected. Especially those stupid, water-grubbing beggars. "Need water!" Nope, all out, how about a bullet to the face instead? :)

I sure do hope you slaughtered everyone and stole everything you could from Megaton before you blew it to rubble. :cwink:

So the first DLC will be a fun little adventure, with new armor and weapons.

The second will be a new landmass/area to the map.

And the third will extend the single player story and finally up the level cap.

Right? I'm excited. Though I wish the level cap would raise a little with each DLC, especially when the first DLC has a new perk. It could for all I know.

My new character is much better rounded then my first. There are so many things I didn't bother to see during my first game.

Nah, I didn't slaughter everyone. I liked the idea of everyone going about their normal life and then BOOM! But I did take care of the quests directly related to Megaton, except for the Survival Guide, since I know Moira survives.

Man, I wish Sydney was a follower, she was fun to be with, she was always talkin about gettin paid, laid and drunk. You teamed up with her during the 'Stealing Independence' mission.

I somehow completed "Stealing Independence" on my first game without ever meeting her. I hope I manage to find her this time.

I don't see how you could have done that. Right when you go into the Archives or whatever you meet her and have to fend off some Super Mutants together. It's part of the mission. Then she tells you how to open the secret elevator.

She died during my mission the both times I played it.

Which one is Sydney? Is that the blonde one..?

I didn't find her till exploring the rest of the place. And even then I used a door I could have got through without her.

Except now my PS3's broken, my Fallout 3 data is gone for good :(

I didn't go to the Archives straight away when I got the quest. I don't know, maybe she wound up getting killed before I got there or I had a glitch or something.

It's just as well she isn't a follower, Charon is a beast, and Sydney is now my arms dealer in Underworld. At first it was tempted to kill her to get her Ultra 10mm SMG I'm glad I stayed my trigger finger.

Just wondering, did you know you could give her stem packs to heal herself?

I got a mod to get rid of the follower cap and now I've got Jericho and Clover following me. When I make it to Underworld, I'll pick up Charon and then I'll be set for life. All I'll need to do is find some Tesla Armor for each of them. It's still early right now, so there's a shortage of power armor. I've got Clover wearing a Brotherhood Outcast suit of armor and Jericho wearing the helmet.

Those are my stem packs, not hers. It's not my fault she can't handle her own.

I went through Anacostia Station to Seward and somehow wound up behind the Capitol Building. I hadn't been to the Mall yet, so I figured hey, this is a new and interesting way to get there. It was great because there's pretty much an all-out war raging between the Super Mutants and the Talon mercs in and around the Capitol, so I basically stayed back and watched as they whittled each other down before I stepped in to mop up the stragglers. I stood in a doorway and killed the Behemoth with a combat shotgun just because I could. :)

I'm at level 11 now, which is where the game really starts getting fun for me. I have a decent amount of weapons and ammo and such, so I don't have to worry about picking fights I might not be able to finish. Now I've got Charon and Lincoln's Repeater, so the fights should become even easier.

Bethesda to Boost Fallout Level Cap
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/943/943474p1.html

January 9, 2009 - Your time in the nuclear wasteland will increase thanks to plans that Bethesda Softworks has to raise the level cap in Fallout 3, its acclaimed post-apocalyptic role-playing game. Lead producer Jeff Gardiner told Eurogamer in an interview that the company will boost the level cap from 20 to 30 in the upcoming Broken Steel downloadable content pack, which is due out in March.

Broken Steel is the third DLC pack for the game. The first, Operation: Anchorage, is due out this month, and it will let players experience the liberation of Alaska from Chinese forces. The second DLC pack, the Pitt, is due out in February and will let players explore the remains of Pittsburgh. Due to an exclusivity deal, the DLC will only be offered for the Xbox 360 and Windows versions of the game. Operation: Anchorage will cost 800 Microsoft Points on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

In addition, Broken Steel will also remove the game's ending, meaning that once you finish the storyline you will be able to continue to adventure around the wasteland. Currently, once you finish the game the credits roll and that's it. By removing the ending, Bethesda will let you work your way toward building a level 30 character.

you know it's a good game where you simply enjoy walking around, just stopping and taking a look at the landscape, and walking some more
