Started playing this again, and is it me or is it REALLY hard to surrvive in this game? I swear i cant step 5 feet into the wasteland before im fighting giant ants and scorpions that suck my ammo dry. I just spent over 200 caps buying ammo and ONE encounter with a group of nasty fire ants and im COMPLETELY out of ammo.

What level are you? I found that once you get into the teens you can pretty much do whatever you want.

I also never changed the difficulty off of the default setting, and used V.A.T.S. constantly.

Raiders and other humans seem to go down easy enough, but the damn bugs suck my weapons dry, and it seems i never have enough caps to fully arm up.

I think im playing on Easy, but im not sure.

Yeah, when your main stats like small guns and stuff start getting loaded, stuff gets easy. I had one of my characters start out with like, 40 or 50 small guns skill yo, was head shotting b**tches in VATS offing them in one shot like nothing. I cleared that school near Megaton without alerting any of them using that silenced pistol from the guy from Tenpenny Tower, loL.

I'm level 16 with this guy now and the game is kind of boring though, I'd up the difficulty but then it's just frustrating.

Creatures are always a b**ch to kill though, like scorpions and yao guais, it's like they eat bullets for sustenance.

Ugh, thank God I traded this in.

Still, provided the expansion lacks giant insects, I may end up renting it to play the Pittsburgh one...just because I want to play a game set in my home town (or what's left of it)

If you take the Scrounger Perk (You need Luck at 5) then you will find a lot of ammo. Always be on the look out for ammo crates and take anything you find off of dead bodies.

Also, decide what type of weapon you want to use mostly and up that related Stats up asap. Get the perk that is related to that weapon type and increases accuracy, etc..

Yea i think iv been spreading out xp through all of the weaons when i dont even really use big weapons.

I did that on my first playthrough and realized I never wanted to use the big weapons, same with the energy guns.

Also, go and find The Terrible Shotgun, Lincoln's Repeater, and the Alien Blaster. They are the best weapons in the game.

I've also got the Terrible Shotgun and the Kneecapper. Mostly because I love Shotguns, I guess.

Been looking for the Wanderer's Leather Armor, but no luck.

So, how good is the DLC? I haven't gotten it yet...but is it any good?

The DLC is short, and easy. I think once all 3 DLC packs come out, them all together will be worth it, but this one is a little on the light side, for the price.

This March the second round of downloadable content for Bethesda Softworks' single-player RPG Fallout 3 will be made available for Xbox 360 and PC platforms. On Microsoft's console it'll cost 800 Microsoft Points, or 10.00 USD, and PC gamers will have to shell out a comparable 9.99 USD.

For this bit of DLC players will wade through the smoking remains of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where slaves and Raider masters clash. Bethesda is promising new enemies, weapons, new perks and achievements, and the opportunity to role-play. From the official press release, "The Pitt opens with a desperate radio message, and a meeting with its sender, an escaped slave named Wernher. Wernher claims that the leader of "The Pitt" has created a cure for mutations… and he needs you to go in and retrieve it. From there, the player can proceed in a number of ways, in true Fallout 3 style. Do you fight your way in, or disguise yourself as a slave? Ally with the slaves, or join their Raider overlords? The Pitt is very morally ambiguous – there's no real right or wrong, just choices to be made, sides to be chosen, and a mystery that could send shockwaves throughout the entire Wasteland."

Microsoft realized the potential of DLC before Sony did, and that you should focus on good developers for it (Rockstar, Bethesda).

DLC was a whole new ball game this gen. Next gen it's going to be a much bigger focus and Sony will definitely be stepping in more aggressively.

Just finished it.....some advice...it is a must to save up as many mini-nukes as you can and get the experimentally fat-man from the national guard fort AND JUST LAY WASTE ON THE LAST BATTLE....i forgot to take screen shots but, lets say there were bodies flying everywhere, I am talking about some serious air-time. It is a must do. A glorious mini-nuke orgy of death............yup i said it.

I'm not giong to bother with any of these, games for windows live is terrible.
A budget game of the Year edition with the lot rather than bits and bobs seems more appealing.
Even if it's paying for the game again, it will be cheap.
