I'm just saying that whilst the trailer does look good, it doesn't really tell us how the film is going to be, the camera choices are generic and we have no idea about the quality of dialogue and narrative structure, but it would seem that the mere presence of the surfer is already lifting this up

Okay, cool. Got it! :)

suggest someone who's better then? Most cinematographers are not known by name, but this dude is more well known than like 80% of directors.:wow:

I agree the trailer shouldn't have dialogue. i'm just saying that one of the main isues of the first film was the dialogue, so we still have no way to tell if that's been dealt with.

That's great for you then i guess:yay:

I loved that part "Ahhh that's cool" when the Surfer phases through the building. LOL That youtube one is just a teaser of the teaser really since the quality is so low.

Jesus Christ! I sure missed quite a bit!

Well, from what I saw in the YouTube trailer, it's looking and sounding fantastic! (the music is really good)

Yep, JAL is going to blow a circuit for sure...barely any Alba at all.

But The Surfer looks ABSOLUTELY fantastic! I wouldn't change anything!

Way to go to the FF2 team!

BTW, the only sad thing today is that I probably won't be able to see NATM until next week, about Wednesday or so. But oh well...YouTube is my best friend.

CAH

From what I can see, it looks promising. The Surfer's flight seemed effortless - - - as it should be for a cosmic entity - - -while Johnny is straining to keep up, at least from the bootleg I saw. Is that how it looked to you, Willie?

I can't see s*** in the Youtube one. Guess I'll have to try to see Night at the Museum today. For anybody who saw it, is that movie any good?

Most people went to see the Fantastic Four, the f/x, etc...Alba was not the main draw of the film though she was probably the most notable star. Not many girls are draws in films aimed at the action hungry young male demographic. However if she were to pose nude in a mag I'm sure the same group would raise the sales of the mag. It's different.

Site's still not up but who knows...they might surprise us:

Yep. I'd say - as much as we can judge from this little clip - they nailed him. I think the audience will realize that he's just going as fast as he needs to to stay ahead of the Torch. It seems he's slightly curious and is testing the Torch until he tires of it and dispenses with him.

When he inverts and looks at the Torch, his face is a perfect, expressionless mask.

It looks pretty good, from what i could see cant wait to see it on the big screen tomorrow

How would you rate the CGI willie overall ?

I didn't bother staying.:o

When they told me to locate my nearest exit . . . I did. Leaving only one woman there to watch it all alone.

I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep until the movie comes out!
This has got me psyhed! I think Tim put some faith in me!

I think I'd give it an 8 out of 10. Johnny looked pretty much identical to what he did last film. I loved the surface and texture of the Surfer, but you can tell it's CGI (though that might be partly because you know something like this has to be CGI).

The slighly unnatural look can probably get a bit more of a pass than it would on other characters since he is other-worldly.

For this sequence, the CGI was good enough not to be distracting, but probably had some room for improvement.

I'm really curious now to see how he looks in a calmer setting.

Thanks Willie,it's good to hear it wasn't to obvious, did it look like it was part of the scene rather than pasted over the practical footage ?

I love the way they did the title at the end. With just the F4 logo in the back ground with Rise of the Silver Surfer over the top of it. Perfect. I love it when sequels have totally different titles instead of just a #

I thought it was crystal clear that the SS was NOT a cgi surfer but Doug Jones in a muscle suit with F/X overlapping him. Then they just added his footage later.
