I haven't seen the Shrek trailer but they're (the trailers) really never that great...the films are fun though and attract lots of kids.

The Surfer started out in the pages of FF.. thats why, he'll probably get his own film if the numbers are good and his merch sells good..

It's the same pic as on the official site just with changed eyes and the site says first official pic. Nowhere does it say concept art...does it?

But you can look at it and tell that it is not a screenshot.

You forget that FF1 was apparently liked by everyone but fanboys and critics. (And I include myself in the former category.)

It didn't do over 300 million worldwide because people felt sorry for it!t:

If this trailer is any indication of the trailers to come, I think FF2 will easily surpass the opening weekend of FF1. Easily.

No, it made 300 million worldwide cause fox marketing team did an incredible job of false advertising ff's 60% fall in its second weekend proves that with ease. yeah it had competition...but it was not in ff's audience so that aint a legit excuse.

hell i personally think ff1 dissappointed opening weekend given how good the films domestic marketing was. i thought it would get ATLEAST 60 million openingh weekend given the amount of effective tv spots i saw on the tube.
it sold 4 million dvd total as of last march....aka what superman sold in a week.

They could have blurred out the background. It could have been a promo shot for the poster or for the press...but I'm pretty confident it's not art.

Well most everyone liked FF it just needed more action. So Fox's goal was to send a message that this film will be action packed.

I think if they get there message across, and I think they did a good job on their first go around, then this film will be very successful and warrant a spin-off.

Told you. No surprise to me. More action, better story was needed, and it got both. Thing suit is better, spx are better, just all around better. Everyone will see for themselfs. Kids will love it. Adults will love it. Teens will love it. The faithful FF fans will go gaga over it. I see nothing negative at this point.

I really think the F/X are not near done yet which speaks alot cause the trailer was still freaking awesome. Johnny's flames looked different possibly not completely finished effects yet. Something was different about them. More yellow than orange or something.

I'll wait till it is out on the internet, when I can watch it over and over, and disect it, then give my opinion, but from what I have heard it was awsome, which is no suprise to me. This film will rock, and the 1st one in comparrision will look like high school students made it. And no my opinion of the 1st one has not changed. The 1st one still rocked for me, but this one will rock even more. Story and Fox heard the fans loud and clear, and it appears they were paying attention. t: FF, Dr. Doom, Silver Surfer, Galctus all in 1 movie ? It's a FF fanboys wet dream come true.

I'm pretty pumped to see this thing. Gonna have to dust off the old "take your younger sibling to see a family movie in order to see a cool trailer" excuse.

Ok guys I just saw it and it is the best trailer I have seen this year. I put it up there with the Ghost Rider, Spiderman and Die Hard trailers.

On its own it was like the movie did some kind of switch within the trailer and set a radically different tone from the first movie.

This is what I mean the torch made a joke (the suit) then he was hovering admiring the surfer, oblivious to the danger that he and soon the world would be in.

The intensity of his predicament was brought out in him falling to earth at the end but the reason the audience kind of new surfer was trouble even if Johnny did not is the music.

That music set the tone for the surfer, heck I felt scared for the torch and when he fell at the end it was like you felt in the comics, how are they going to beat this guy, and worse if they do, (with Doom's help maybe) then what about Galactus, I doubt that they are going to do the ultimate nullifier thing.

I tell you guys I actually felt tense watching the chase, knowing how powerful the surfer is and realizing that FF1 was sunday school and now the war in heaven was about to come to earth.

That music set a tone from the very start, letting us know that this was the herald of Galactus coming to earth, with Galactus not far behind. Even if you did not know the original story the music lets you know the surfer is trouble and at the end when he turned and looked at the torch there was an actual hush in the theater.

I went with a buddy of mine and he is a comic book purist (DC mostly) but he was blown away.

I have two questions is that music by Ottman. If it is all I can say is wow.

I am an FF fan but I appreciate effort and you can see that Fox and Story have really put in the time and are going for a home run.

Now I hope we get to have at least two hours of this kind of intensity, or 2 1/2.

Rothman old buddy this may be the motherload for Fox, I mean really, I always knew that FF could rock but this is getting serious, I think they must deliver.

If Fox handles this right they might make serious bank on this movie and I mean serious bank.

Like I have said IF everything fires on all thrusters, and everything goes perfect, this movie CAN make 300 domestic. This will be some serious money here. This film has the potential to be epic in the comic to film industry. I mean FF, Dr. Doom, Silver Surfer, and Galactus all in 1 movie ? It don't get much more epic then that. If they screw this up, noone to blame but themselfs, and I'll be the 1st to string them up.

this is from comics2film thay say the trailer will be up soon in a couple of day's & in HI-DEF

we have been told that the trailer (which comes in at a runtime of 1 minute and 42 seconds) has now officially been completed, Fox are very happy with it, and that it will definately be showing with Night at the Museum in the US from this Friday. The trailer has been sealed up and is being sent off "loose in the can" (shipping seperately from the movie, and manually attached at the last minute) to theaters across the US as I type. If you are going to see Night at the Museum JUST for the trailer, please be sure to check with your local theater first, because the trailer may or may not be included depending on whether or not they had added it.

We have also been told that the television and internet releases of the trailer will not be happening until "at least a few days" later. This means that the trailer will most likely be available online (we are hearing it will most likely be available in High Definition!) at some point next week. This does not sound right, FF sold 2.4 million DVDS, its opening day.

Your numbers are way off you are saying that they sold 1.6 million for the next 4 or so months.

That is highly unlikey give us a source.

Sounds like Fox/Marvel/Story were pretty friggin' brilliant in emulating the trailer for 'Devil Wears Prada' via their F42 teaser.

I have a feeling that we're going to see a lot more movies taking on this approach in their marketing and promotions. It's cost effective (you just need to finish a full scene, rather than a mix 'n match of scenes from all over the movie), less spoilerish, and most importantly... it's pretty friggin' awesome. Good for F2: ROTSS for adopting this method.

I think Fox has a LOT of faith in what they've got this time.

Holy shuyt this looks good.I loved the first one so I'm probably going to like this one if they're claiming bigger and better things.
