More like T-1000 looks exactly like Silver Surfer. He's been around longer. I expected people to start comparisons with the two.
You can't just say there was no T-1000 influence because the Surfer has been around longer. The liquid metal look for the Surfer wasn't the only way to go.

T1000 is a shiny reflective metal man and so is SS, it´s natural that they resemble each other. That´s fanboy nitpicking.

I only saw the trailer on youtube, so I´ll save some judgement, but... I dunno. It felt like they were trying to force a more serious tone on the trailer with music and the "pulsing" effect... But the footage itself mostly resembled the old stuff, with Thing crying and Johnny´s "just bought this tux" line... But the end of it actually suggested something darker.

Those lines are spot on though, that is EXACTLY how they are in the books,Johnny is a wisecracking hero and Thing is the most sensitive of the group.

Not quite as simple as that. The Surfer could have had a duller look and look less like the T-1000, and it's obvious there is an influence. The Surfer hasn't been done in live-action before and the T-1000 is the same thing visually, so they used him as reference.

I'm not complaining, just saying.

Where did you see it Cine ?:wow:

The Surfer came long before Cameron thought of the T=1000

It got leaked.

Yeah I know, I think you should read again my post.

And I think Story saw T2, so he could analize it and bring some changes in SS's appearance (maybe change a bit color and make him look more realistic, not just some space character from cartoons). But he didn't do that.

BTW, who is that hot girl on your avvy? :D

Cine look at the T2 again. Surfer has way more definition and is a much more detailed character compared to the simple T2 technology...at least simple compared to today's tech.

T2 was released in 1991, FF2 will air in 2007. There is a big difference.

T2 was for 91 something what The Matrix was for 97.

Oh the youtbue version ?

I did read it,i was just saying T-1000 took it's look from SS and to me Story has took SS's comic look and put it on film,i can't see what is more faithful than that

It's Maria Kennelis:cwink:

Okay. Still, I haven´t seen it properly yet - Fox release the dang thing online already! Night At he Museum is opening damn fine already! - but he did look a bit more opaque and less reflective than T1000 from what I can see.

Yeah.

No, Cameron created T-1000 in his vision during the editing of his first movi. He was ill and a little delirious that time.

Oh, nice choice :D

How did you come to that conclusion? The T-1000 and the Surfer are two entirely different concepts.

One is a cosmic herald that surfs across the cosmos.

The other is a robot killing machine from the future made out of morphing liquid metal.

The silver metal look is a consequence of being made out of liquid metal, which is a result of Cameron's fascination with liquid. Not from the Surfer.

The liquid look when he is transforming is clearly Surfer inspired,i never said the characterization was the same I'm talking about the ppl saying Surfer looks like the T-1000 when he's in mid transformation

But as I already said, the silver morphing look of the T-1000 is not an inspiration from the Silver Surfer, but a consequence of the character being made of liquid metal. Cameron has an obsession with liquid morphing effects (see The Abyss) and the Silver Surfer is not made out of liquid metal.

How will you prove that Cameron read comics about SS and got his inspiration for making T-1000?

My point was it looks the same,so it's not a stretch to deduct that he was inspired by the look of an alien comic charatcer as the midway point of the liquid transformation is it ?

I don't know how can you prove he dreamt it up whilst in a delusional state ? to me if it smells like chocolate and tastes like chocolate chances are it's chocolate:cwink:

Of course it's the same. It's a silver humanoid. But what else was Cameron going to do? Make him gold?

He told this. There was interview, in which he told how he had made T-1000.

I don't know i'm not a creative designer,this isn't a big deal man:cwink:

I love Cameron's movies but the dude has an ego the size of a planet,i'd be shocked if he credited anyone else:cwink:

I actually liked the visual effects for the Silver Surfer much better than The Torch. I can't complain one damn bit about the Surfer, not one damn bit.

So none know when will be online? it's weird that is at theatres and not on apple, or it's official site...
